  1. Hi All: I was thinking about getting a Tachometer to see if I am getting the most out of my 25hp merc, I am sitting on the edge about getting one, for the $100 is it worth the cost thanks
  2. Wow, looks like a great outing, thanks for posting
  3. Hi All: From all the great information provided I thought I would give a full review for others. Review - The Summerhouse - http://www.summerhousepark.ca on Miller lake. The launching facility and "Marina Office" were top notch service with a smile, Dockage for the week was $50.00 for a good slip (no electric that I could see) Well worth the price, The boat house contains a map of the lake with recommended spots for Bass, pike and Pickerel. You can purchase bait and basic fishing equipment there. The camp store is well stocked with all amenities and prices are a little high but hey that’s camping, The main beach is full sand and well groomed. Over all camp is above average in most aspects. The website does have a little bit of not false advertisement but more misleading information. We stayed at the Sandpiper cottage, the absolute best location you can have, right on the water, spectacular views, If you were to go here, try to get this cottage. It lists 2 bedrooms its, more 2 bedrooms with a divider wall (the wall does not extend too the ceiling) The 2 piece bath is a camper port-a-potty with a sink, in a Small room.. How small you ask you can wash your face in the sink with sitting on the port-a-potty. The Grill, is a grill you need to provide all char coal, etc.. Buy it before coming its a big grill and to get enough going you burn it quick There is a TV with Sat reception. The lighting in the cottage is very limited, sometimes you dropped stuff in the bedroom and needed a flashlight to find it. Overall a rustic cottage. My cousin stayed at the Mersenger Hideaway. The hideaway is located on the main cottage road, with the fire pit and picnic table facing the road, Be prepared to hear, cars, trucks and traffic. This cottage is on a slight hill with very loose gavel, Cars spin there tires, kids wipe out etc. All day expect to say hi to everyone walking by to the main beach, and the view of the water is through the tree's --- other than that same as above. DO NOT STAY AT THIS COTTAGE. The other cottages are a 50/50 on location some great others with a 10 foot vertical drop too the water, not good for small kids but great view. The main showers by the cottages are in dire need of service, 2 stalls, hope your not looking for privacy, A bench that needs paint or replacing Water that goes super hot, ice cold, super hot without any help (careful with kids) Shower heads that have not been serviced since the 60's.. Its sad cause it looks like they retiled the are recently but stopped ?? Now what you are looking for lake Miller information. If your going there for Walleye, cause they "stocked the lake" you will be disappointed, yes they are in the lake as I got a small fry in my minnow trap, but for catching one they are far and few between. Now for pike and bass, excellent fishing with a good chance of getting a few each night. The lake is relatively clean with very little weedy patches. Lots and lots of rocks structure, island, and drop offs, great lake for bass, There are small pan fish but not in great numbers. The rocks sometime just appear in the middle of no where some are marked others are a few feet down, until you know the area keep a sharp look out. The web site listed this site as * Rated 5 star for recreation / 4 star for facilities. I would give it a 3 star for recreation ~ great park for the kids ~ great other activities. ~ bad part expensive to rent any extra activities. I would give it a 2 star for Facilities. ~ Showers / bathrooms need updated ~ Cottages need some TLC ~ Expensive for what you get or expect. ~ good rustic retreat And a few pics
  4. Nice new ride, guess When you said your cherokee was #1 I thought you would never change Enjoy
  5. Too funny, I was thinking the same thing, too windy, just like last year, Everytime I wanted to head out in Erie the wind would pick up.. Humm maybe its time I put up a wind power generator, they you can be sure the wind would be calm each day.
  6. Man, seeing that many "Eye's" there is now a tear in my eye great report and pics
  7. Now if the Hits- 16,055,000 would all just click a darn google ad each time..
  8. If it cuts down on the wild jet ski's bring some up here
  9. Super read Jen. Nothing like going out there when there Hot.. I was going to head out for salmon Sunday !! pity the weather channel was looking at the wrong country when doing there forcast.
  10. Hey Lew: If you have to do this now might be a good time to change over too propane? cheaper in the long run, and better on the resale. just $.02
  11. I hear ya on that one CCM, these days there is so much on the enviorment and what is good what is bad, Its hard to get a straight responce. I just always put up the guard when the "director of the advocacy group Environmental Defence and the author" You know who he is writting for, now if it was a unbiased report from 3 independant sources. Ok I would look harder at the report. Today don't eat the fish, tommorow we need to eat more fish. I think its somewhere in between. There are too many "the sky is falling reports these days" Sorry 55CM was a small salmon brain fart though in inches. still a 21" salmon is still a good meal
  12. WTG Congrats to the mum oh yea for your part in the process to RICH
  13. Humm, did they check the plug. My guess is the boat trailer went off the end of the ramp and pulled the truck in.. Has to be up north cause most of the ramps around here you have too have most of your truck in the water before you even find deep water for the boat too unload. Oh well I am sure the embarrasment of the event would be more than enough for not useing the emergancy brake
  14. I find my biggest problem coming from the spinning reel type is I try to heave it as hard as you can then yeap bird nest heaven.. Like BP said slow and steady is easier then winnging it I am on my second year and still leaning.
  15. looks like a great family outing
  16. Well decided to head up to my home town to visit my sister for some sun, sand and fishing on the lake. Only got out once due too wind and need for sleep Took my nephew out for with me and my dog, only managed too hook into one "boot" not what I wanted but made the day for my nephew. When I got it in the boat, I told him to take a picture then I said here you hold it let me take a pic before we get a length and weight.. yep you know whats coming.. ahhhhh, wiggle wiggle, ahhhh flip flip splash.. and that was it.. We only managed to get 3 pics not that we were going to keep it but poor guy was the joke at the table that night. another strange thing happend. there were about 5-6 boats out fishing in big lake huron then we hear the OPP boat checking in with the coast guard as then are heading out.. OK you have 20k of coast line to cover but I do a quck check to make sure all equipment is on board and ready.. What is the chance that they will come over too us as we are so far out and so few boats. About 30 min later the OPP boat chuggs along side us after a brief go through of all the safety stuff he asks me for my operators card... Pardon -- Yes sir your Operators card.. So I dig in my wallet, past the dust, cobb webbs, shooo the moths out of the way and there it was.,. Finally after 5 years someone has finally ask for it.. a tear formed in my eye. Super nice OPP by the way. Thats the way it should be no attidtude, Hi how are you, have a great day fishing, and good luck type of conversation!!!
  17. Super., Great too see you all again. Love that little dog of yours See you next year,
  18. Rule of business is, If its not it writting it never happend. If you don't have a signiture of recieving it , It never happened. Send back a letter (registered with signiture required) stateing such and if it continues in such a matter you will request a harrasement suit. if all else fails. Toss muskie baits at them.

  20. Great pics, added a few more to my album
  21. Hey Jen, Yeap Been there and the area many, many and a few more many time ... Super place, I lived in that area for 20 something years. Thats a place if you wanted a super beach you just can beat that area, friendly people, etc. Unfortuantly, its a long drive from my place going over the 3 hour mark + the inland lakes are even further I figure a 4 year old would only listen to so much Classic rock for the drive so I need it closer.
  22. Hey All. Does anyone know a nice queit place for camping with a small in-land lake for pan fish. Close too 2 hours from Toronto. I know I could go just about anywhere for fishing but my requirements are tight on this one as its for my 4 year old and me too do a little bonding time. I need a small lake so it warms up quick for swiming. Boat Access and she wants to go on the boat Lots of pan fish to keep her busy, nothing for me unless its there of course Winning lotto numbers for next fridays super 7 (thought I would slip this in) I was looking on the web and there are too many to pick from. Any one have any recomendations. Thanks LeXX
