  1. I recently reached out to Misfish to ask if he could put a small prize package together for my semi annual (Fall) get together in October. They're all hardcore Steelheaders and I know that one lucky attendee is going to be blown away upon winning this assortment of high quality killer baits. Many thanks for all of your considerations and generousity Brian as well as your expediency in delivering. Cheers Bud

  2. I recently had both the privilege and the honour of breathing a fresh new look into a piece of Old School Steelhead History. There were a lot of uncertainties around this old school rod build (it's not a factory option blank), but I was able through the generous help of a few friends and my own knowledge to eventually know what I had in hand. While I did not reguide the rod itself, I was tasked with replacing the 19" old and worn out ringless cork handle back to a more modern and functional grip with old school aluminum sliding rings and making a dedication decal to honour both it's source and the original owner that had it custom built at L.G Custom Tackle way back when. This is the end result......

  5. Yes Sir indeed, that Wayne MacDonald. One of my dear friends inherited it after his friend Wayne's passing and wanted to honour his memory and get the rod back on the rivers this Fall.

  6. Named after Wayne MacDonald ? A fitting tribute with a build that honours the original's legacy. Hopefully he's resting in peace on a river where the water is always green and the fish are always chrome...

  7. Nice fish. Not a tiger, just a very pretty, young, everyday muskie. Tiger muskie have more rounded tails with loads of spotting, and more spotting on the dorsal and ventral fins as well. Compare the deeply forked tail on your fish to the more rounded, broader tail on this tiger muskie. You can click the pic to make it bigger. The vertical bar markings tend to look more hollow on tiger muskies, but this varies widely. The tail is a pretty reliable indicator though. As this is your first post, welcome to the board.

  8. Came across this old relic and manuals yesterday on the internet for free, I couldn't resist it. Thought it would be fun to tinker around with and get it running. I hazard to guess how many decades it's been since it ran. The old Gal, in her 80's I expect, said her late husband had an outboard repair shop in Ottawa. They decided to move to Calgary and he was so fond of this little motor he brought it out with them. I wish it was in better condition but the price was right. The Evinrude manual is over two inches thick. 1958 Gale Buccaneer 3, almost as old as I am and just like me, not much to look at Hahaha.
