  2. My brother and a couple of friends got out this past Thursday. Yes, they got their 18 pickereyes in less than two hours, but this fish was the highlight of their trip. Caught on a dipsey, 90ft out and a trolling spoon. It ripped 100ft of line in the first run and took them 20 minutes to finally get in the net. They knew it probably wasn't a pickereye, maybe a sheepy, but no one in the boat considered this! HH PS... My brother is 6ft 2in PSS... I forgot to mention that the spoon used is called a greasy chicken wing! LMAO!

  3. Paul kryskow is an interesting character. hes excellent at what he does, he’s just very poor at customer service, and that’s the nature of the beast. He’s a mechanic, not a dealership. Will he fix your problems, and find a way to get your problem solved at a reasonable price even if it’s weird stuff where you need parts from another motor? Yes the guy practically has an outboard junkyard at his disposal. will you know what the hell is going on, or when you’re boat will be fixed by? Typically no lol So, you don’t go to kryskow if you’re intent is to just slap a new lower end on a boat, do that yourself. however, if your lower end explodes and your looking to find a used housing and to get it rebuilt for an older motor, he’s your guy. he found one that fit my old Yamaha totally rebuilt it for me and it was 30% of the cost of a new one. Problem in my case is the water return wasn’t in the same spot because it was an 03 motor instead of an 06 and it caused issues for my particular set up, I ended up blowing my entire motor that same year. it’s not exactly Kryskow’s fault though, he doesn’t know my boat hull, prop to pad and how I’m running my set up.

  4. If it was me I would save myself a lot of stress and just keep with what I have now until the furnace actually packs it in before even considering it. Chances are prices will drop too over time just like everything else does. Now I also burn wood so my furnace gets far less use than it would otherwise so it should last much longer. Plus I still need propane for my range and hot water. As I recall my yearly rental fee for 2 tanks is around $130.

  5. Just returned from restoule, great trip weather was fantastic, the walleye bite was still on caught a number of pike the biggest was 33 in. Restoule lake was the best producer, struck out on stormy although Ihave to admit I never put much effort into it, caught my biggest ever smallie on clear not even a sniff of any musky.Plan on going back in late sept and will leave the small rods back at camp, its hard to focous on one species when your having so much fun.

  6. Ive had good success for pike on spinnerbaits particularly white and chartruese. Try the bay east of the park .We call it Valhalla Bay cause there is a sign there individual letters spelling Valhalla. Bass are eager to go on dropshot rigs in many places but my favourite is the point that extends out into the water just to the west of Porters Landing. The sandy point off Arthurs point has also proven bountiful. If you've got a week do some exploring. Restoule is a big lake and has tons of productive water. If you want to really explore try some of the surrounding backlakes. Hike up the falls at the west end of the lake and enjoy some excellent smallmouth fishing on Crooked Lake. Launch at Stormy and boat out of the docking bay to the NE you will see a big sand beach. Pull your boat up here and walk about 50 feet and you'll be on Hazel Lake which is full of Largemouth and some smaller musky. Good luck and dont forget to make a report when you come back.
