  1. Hoping the forecast holds true for this years inaugural launch on Lake O's south shore tomorrow morning.

  2. Well the inaugural voyage went well this morning, bit of a late start but lines in around 8:30 and lines out at 1pm. It took about 30 minutes to put a program together and once we had it dialed in we did pretty good. My buddy truly had it dialed and at one point had a 5 fish lead on me. I had 4 fish move my rods but only one connected and it was quickly lost. In the closing hour I finally nailed one to avoid the Skunk followed by one more for greaser for my buddy who started the day with 2 greasers before we found where the Kings were lurking. Big fish of the day as probably 22 plus, not bad for an early Spring King. Water temps 44 to 46, staying in 46 was key and no surprise that body baits were the ticket.

  3. Thanks CM, no not spoons, they didn't move a fish this morning. Body baits slow, slow.....trying to keep keep it under 2.4 on the GPS.

  4. Orillia Perch Festival kicks off this weekend. There'll be a pack of boats out from Atherly Narrows...they're usually catchin' more than a sun tan..

  7. I think it's a take on "Cabbage Dragon" which is common moniker for Musky in NW Ontario.

  8. I find that "roughing" up the ball and socket on the Ram mounts with 80 grit sandpaper helps keep them in place.

  9. Hi all, So...walleye season closed yesterday but we aint done yet, lol. It was so nice out and the howling wind eased by 4pm so I headed out around 5pm. Was cool to ride the sled on a perfectly flat lake, but the snow will be gone by tomorrow evening and back to the quad. Stayed local this evening, and was not expecting too much action fish wise, but in the end it turned out to be a productive couple hours.
