  2. Hi Glen, I have used the anti slip mats from the dollar store that are used a drawer liners. The water goes through them so they are not a bouyant as carpet or a life jacket. Now I anchor off shore with an Anchor Buddy https://www.amazon.ca/Greenfield-Anchor-Buddy-Royal-AB4000-RB/dp/B0000TX8SM/ref=asc_df_B0000TX8SM/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=341612205093&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2316446483614800301&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001117&hvtargid=pla-569825172371&psc=1. It is a bungee rope so anchor about 75' out form shore and back in. Then I tie my boat to shore and once I unload I let go and the boat gets pulled out into deeper water. It works really well. Here is picture of it in action.

  4. So I am going to have shoulder surgery on Thursday and by all accounts will be spending a minimum of six weeks in a sling. And it's my right shoulder..... So I have been cooking up stuff from the freezers to have food put ahead, given that my wife does not cook much. Today's project was a seafood chowder: bacon, celery, Vidalia onions, Yukon Gold potatoes, 3 largemouth bass, a bunch of winter-time perch fillets, a couple cans of baby clams, a bag of bay scallops and a bag of jumbo shrimp. It is delicious! Doug

I have been ordering all my poured jigs from him and today he was doing delivery rounds and said he would stop by and drop off my order. Thanks bye and was great to see you again. Now I have 400 1/16 oz spring trout bugs to tie up,,,,,,,,,LOL

  6. Interesting. I have had a LOT more success with an unweighted hook.

  7. I’m going to counter what crow says because I have issues with my hands and therefore don’t bother even attempting to tie the fg knot. because I’m stuck tying a double uni I typically tie a leader as long as I am willing to cast without the knot going through the top eyelet. I guess 24 inches is long enough. the double uni is so bloody easy to tie, that even I can tie it with cold raynauds syndrome hands. they literally never fail. Your line will break long before a uni knot fails.
