hotsky Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Would like to go ice fishing tomorrow (Sun) but not sure how the recent thaw effected the ice. Im guessing it's still pretty safe but will be slushy. I'm in hamilton and there was about 18" of ice last Saturday, anyone fished today how much of the ice did we loose?
BillM Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 You probably gained a bunch after the melt/refreeze.
cowanjo Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 I was on bald lake, lost a stack of snow, now we have 22 inches under a crust and 3 inches of water. Later this week will be even more ice - slushy for sure today good luck getting huts of next weekend in Kawarthas as they are now in ice, never used a flame thrower before!
porkpie Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Lots of ice, but some deep slush beds for the bikes and sleds. Walking conditions are getting pretty good, and will be better still in a day or 2. A lot of the snow has been knocked down. Edited February 23, 2014 by porkpie
davey buoy Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 The walking on Simcoe was not bad yesterday.Had the odd 6" sink down, but not many times.Should be even better today.
