NewHips Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 I need to pick up 1 more casting reel, I have a Gander mountain Guide series IM8 7'6 heavy 1/2 - 1 /3/8oz. Primarily going to use for throwing Bucktails and 1.5oz spinner-baits, 1oz spoons. I need some suggestions.......trying to stay in the $100 and under slot. I will probably be using 40lb braid also. Thanks for any input...............Hips
gino Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Pflueger President 6925X or 6930X...good quality and fair price
aplumma Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 For the price you have to spend you should watch the classifieds for a gentle used one that will get you more bang for the buck. I will say an inexpensive reel is one that will either aggravate you with poor performance or break in the worst time and manner. Art
musky_hunter Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 u can find a used curado e for that price. would work wiht the presentations you mentioned above.
BillM Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Yup, for $100, you'll get way more bang for your buck with a used reel vs new.
jeffw Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Lebarons has the lexa 100's for just over $100. Cheers jeff
solopaddler Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 Spend a little extra money on a Curado. It's a proven performer and won't let you down.
NewHips Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Thanks everyone...............I went with the Shimano Curado 200G6
