Jds63 Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Some interesting info listed below on a meeting held in Haliburton to listen to Dr. John Casselman, adjunct professor at Queen’s University and former Senior Scientist Fisheries Research for the MNR. http://www.haliburtonecho.ca/2013/06/03/where-have-all-the-fish-gone
4x4bassin Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Thanks for posting , a bit of a concern to say the least !
ehg Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Thanks for the link Enjoy reading anything by Dr. Casselman. Mentions that a species of lake trout "Haliburton Gold" was replenished by closing season earlier....etc.
wkimwes Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Good read and glad this is being put up front.
Musky or Specks Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Interesting I wonder if that female catch rate %/time frame is just a Haliburton phenomena or whether that is a province wide occurance. If so that July 30 season ending timeeline should be adopted every where.
