Well, from what I'm readin', I still consider I paid too much.

Messed around with a Mazda, lately.

Solution was $100 diagnostic, $72/hr labour, $5 bulb.

Problem: Airbag Alert light came on.

Solution: Replace the burnt out passenger airbag sensor light.

So, for that money I got a $5 light bulb and a carwash.

Damn! I think that was money well spent!

Maybe it's not just pet threads that get me suspended!

One very funny thing about the old cars is that you never followed too close. With a carb you never new when a car would stall and you could rearend them.

I have had the pleasure of an auto mechanic for 15 years and I make sure he knows he is appreciated and he does the same.

For the past 10 years, Maribeth bakes our mechanics some of her world famous chocolate chip cookies to show our appreciation...good.gif

Consider this; an annual repair bill of (let's just pick) $1200 is still less than financing/leasing a car for 300-500 / month. [assuming your older vehicle is paid off]

I've never bought new and likely never will. Always used and always in cash.
