Skud Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Went out with Tupelo and my Bro yesterday for the entire day. Was a tad chilly but an overall beauty day. Hooked into 3 low 30 inch musky but only landed one while casting inline spinners. Caught a smallie and then a 30" pike while trolling, my first ever there. The pike in Balsam are eating very well. Super thick. The family and I enjoyed it for dinner today. The other two in the boat successfully picked on the perch all day. Thanks for the day out Adam. Sweet rig. Rizzo Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 good stuff...I just finished eating my Balsam pike from Thursday. It actually was pretty good. My one son loved it and couldn't get enough. I agree with you they are eating well. My pike was mid 30's and solid. I have not turned into a fish-eater yet, but I will certainly extinguish any pike from Balsam.
northernpike56 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 nice.. one day I will catch a muskie
hutch4113 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Pics Yes Ladies and Gentleman - that perch sure put up a fight. Glad I had 50 pound braid, with a leader, otherwise I don't think I would have got him in the boat. What a frustrating day (Glad for Skud though). Plus I lost a brand new lure (it would have been my go to lure...I can feel it) when the braid snapped on a cast. We also didn't get a picture of the rock I caught...boy did it put up a fight. But - I think I might be getting addicted to Muskie Fishing.....
