misfish Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 To catch a hummer like that is awesome. Well done. I have tried at my parents place, but they fly off before I can click. What are you doing to get those shots?
Christopheraaron Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 I've shot humming birds before, and all it takes is a little searching and waiting. Look around for a while until you find one, generally hummingbirds will return to that section of flowers, once you've found one set up your camera on a tripod, take a few test shots to make sure you have your settings down and ready. Make sure you're set up a good 10 ft away, grab a chair and wait, once it returns you should already have you're camera aimed and focused so just CLICK and your done!

coreyhkh Posted May 18, 2012 Author Report Posted May 18, 2012 Thanks, yeah I just waited he was coming back and he would stay at one flower for like 10 to 15sec and I shot at 1/1000 of a sec and the wings where still a blur.
