MSBruno Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Looking at renting a cottage on the South/Eastern side of Cook's Bay and I have never fished there because people always advised me to not fish there with my 15'4" 74" beam bass boat (1994 Hydra-Sport Z255, 1994 40HP Johnson). I understand that my boat is not a big water boat, but if I stay within Cook's Bay, am I setting myself up for trouble? I also understand that the eastern side of Cook's Bay will take the brunt of the winds and I just want to know if I should look to rent a cottage elsewhere. Advice is always appreciated.
BucktownAngler Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 id go elsewhere, cooks bay gets rough
MSBruno Posted April 12, 2012 Author Report Posted April 12, 2012 id go elsewhere, cooks bay gets rough Thanks Boss!
captpierre Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 If you get a cold front coming thru and NW blow for a few days, you could be stuck. A Southwest cottage would be better
BucktownAngler Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 i would look into one of the kawartha lakes. Rice, buckhorns, scugog, pigeon, balsam
cityfisher Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 i live down the street and am on the bay often... its not a place for small boats and the wind does pick up often... if you get good weather then your fine... if not your gonna have fun with the rollers on the bay
MSBruno Posted April 12, 2012 Author Report Posted April 12, 2012 Thanks everyone. I'll look elsewhere.
