Got finished work at 3 am decided to go up north and fish one of my favorite tributaries. The water was high but not too stained, fishing was great until the sun started to peek through the fog. By the looks of mine and other fish caught today (mostly egg eaters and dropbacks) I'd say come opening there won't be many fish left in the creeks and rivers.... 2012-03-16094710.jpg2012-03-16094716.jpg2012-03-16101101.jpg

Nice fish! They also hate the mud btw :) Try to not let them flop around in it. A little cotton tailing glove works well.. Keep one in your waders.

Nice crotch shot in the first pic! :rofl2:

But yeah, they're dropping already. Not surprising, in view of the almost complete absence of that thing called.... what was it again? ... oh yeah. WINTER! :dunno:

Who ever is bookin time off for the opener might be in for a big suprise, especially if we get the big rains like weve had, that will flush the chrome to the bluezone. Could be very good for Walleye as they will spawn early and recuperate themselves, and march out to some very healthy green weedlines and flats with the warm temps.

I don't think anyone is going to be surprised that the fish will be done and gone by the time opener gets here. Opener is for residents anyhow, screw the steelhead, lol.
