rock34 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Hey all, I'm heading out to Tbay for a few days of work. On April 10th I have the full day off and would like to go fishing. Anyone know of someone who guides up there? Is April 10th too early? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
Guest ThisPlaceSucks Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) It's not too early but I would be prepared to fish a vast array of river conditions at that time of year and make sure you have some spoons for the river mouths. Contact D+R Outdoors in T-Bay and I'm sure they can hook you up with a guide. Edited March 7, 2012 by Dr. Salvelinus
rock34 Posted March 7, 2012 Author Report Posted March 7, 2012 Thanks Man. I called them. They have no guides but are more than willing to point me to a few rivers which is really all that I need. Long story short, that was helpful. Thanks!
Joeytier Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Very good chance your trip will be right in the middle of the thaw, but the river mouths should have lots of fish around. Good luck.
danc Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Coasters! Actually Bill, the open season for Brook Trout in Lake Superior (Div. 23) is from the last Saturday in April to Labour Day. But we do like our coasters up here. Especially beer coasters.
BillM Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I guess that's the only kind of Coaster the OP will be handling, lol!
TDunn Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) Usually at that time the rivers are still locked. Last year my first hot day in the waders was on april 19th. Seems we are a few weeks ahead of time, so you might luck out. As mentioned if the rivers are still locked up, hit the mouths. Another option is to stop in the Soo and fish the rapids if your driving .... or just go ice fishing in TBay! Good luck and enjoy! TDunn Edited March 8, 2012 by TDunn
