Highway 35 ice

In case some of the "southerners" were thinking that the mild temps were limited to the GTA: I drove from Haliburton to Huntsville yesterday. The only ice is on very small lakes, and you could throw a rock threw the thin ice that does exist. Large lakes are completely free of ice. I think that trout opener may be an open-water affair this year.

Well there's a little more ice on them today.

The rock cuts along 35 have solid ice where the water usually seeps out of.

Mountain Trout House Marina on Lake Kawagama near Dorset & not far from

 

HWY 35 has a video camera aimed on to the lake/marina which is updated

 

every 10 minutes as well as having weather conditions listed.

Haliburton has a webcam on their communications tower atop the lookout. Streaming video allows you to see Head Lake and surrounding hills.
