chuckymcd Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Hey Guys and Gals, Just wondering if anyone is in the Dunnville area? i want to head there this weekend but with the cold weather coming in I dont know if its a good idea. Anybody know the water temp? or if the cats are in yet? Its quite the trip for me so I dont want to go all the way there then find out theres nothing in the river yet Thanks Chuck
SBCregal Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 you could try giving steve at fishmasters bait a call, see what he has to say.
foggy Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 My Dad and I went just a little upstream from the Dunnville Dam on Saturday (for cats). The water was very high and fast (our usual spot was mostly underwater) . Not a bite using worms. Heavy sinkers kept our bait anchored, but the lines were catching a lot of weeds. Hopefully a week or 2 things will settle down.
Steve Piggott Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 I was out on Sunday, first run for the boat,Water temp 39 F current fast ,a lot of wood and logs.Keep a eye on the flow chart http://www.grandriver.ca/index/document.cfm?Sec=2&Sub1=6&Sub2=5 when it get around 200 it should be alright.Water temps around 45F is a good time to start.I'm there all of April so i will post when I start to get fish.
