GPS/fishfinder

Im looking for a decent split screen gps/fishfinder. Any suggestions on pros and cons of different models/styles. I dont want something that will break the bank. Say, $600.00? All opinions welcome.

I do love my HDS5 especially since they up graded the software, It was good before but it is fantastic now.

I purchase the Lowrance HD5 last fall, Runs for about $700.00 plus navionics chip. REally impressed with ease of use and sonar definition. Only thing is that screen is smaller then say HD 7 or 8 or 10 but fell into my budget.

Best thing you could do is see 2 people to teach you about electronics, Lawren Wetzel at Radio World-Toronto or Joslyn at Angling Outfitters in Woodstock. They will help you make a decision based on your needs. I like Lowrance because I use my fish finder.
