Master of Bait Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Hey guys and gals, I'm weekending up near the narrows between these two lakes this coming weekend and was wondering if anyone could tell me where I might drop a line into some open water for some perchies - shore fishing, of course. Appreciate a tip if you got one. Cheers, MoB

Master of Bait Posted December 9, 2010 Author Report Posted December 9, 2010 http://www.timeonthewater.ca/First_Ice_2011.html This was posted on the LSMB Thanks NAW, Anyone think I can tread onto the ice near shore or is that madness? Not lugging gear or anything but I know it's quite early. Appreciate yer tips.
BillM Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 I wouldn't step out on any ice unless you have a death wish.
irishfield Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 (edited) I sure wouldn't be in a hurry to hit Simcoe or Couch... a sheltered spot on GBay or small back lake maybe... Edited December 9, 2010 by irishfield
discophish Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 If you are not too fond of your mother in-law, you can invite her out for a nice walk ... but always keep her in front of you on that thin ice. It will give you time to back up if something happens. If for some strange reason you like her, I would advise that both of you should say off any ice.

So anyone know if there is open water near the Atherly Narrows that would be castable from shore? As you can see I am desperate here. Thanks, MoB
discophish Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Perhaps give Hook & Bow a call in Orillia. They are on Atherley and I'm sure they would have the info you are looking for. Trombly's is right around the corner as well.
