Dave Bailey Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 While we were up at Killarney one of the rods developed a couple of cracks at the ferrule, maybe 1/4" long, parallel to the shaft. If I dragged some CA glue along them and let the capillary action suck it in, would that hold it?
Spiel Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Are these cracks on the male or the female end?
Dave Bailey Posted September 6, 2010 Author Report Posted September 6, 2010 Oops, female (if fishing rod anatomy is analogous to human )
Spiel Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Okay then I would ask are these cracks in the finish over the ferrule winding or in the blank itself?
Dave Bailey Posted September 6, 2010 Author Report Posted September 6, 2010 Okay then I would ask are these cracks in the finish over the ferrule winding or in the blank itself? Um... yeah. Have to admit I have no idea what you mean, although I probably should. Let's just say that they start at the very tip of the ferrule, where the male part begins to slide in. (Damn, now I need another cold shower... )

(Damn, now I need another cold shower... ) Thank goodness you're not a plumber, they deal with male and female fittings all day long, and the worst of it is s short male - male fitting is called a nipple! You'd have to hook up a shower and use it right away. Edited September 7, 2010 by HTHM

HTHM Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 The reason they do is; They charge a twonie a minute and it's a coin slot....
