Anybody fish Holland River?

Hey,

 

May launch a boat in holland river before I head out to the lake....question is, anybody fish the holland river for largies? Any fish or few and far between?

Is there a lot of scum in the water like the canal?

 

Any info/help would be greatly appreciated!

Last summer I tried fishing the Holland river south of 88 quite a few times, only managed a couple bass and a decent pike. I think it's a lot better in the spring.

but yes there are bass in there....

 

I have fished it twice this year and done poorly

 

but we have had more rain lately ,so who knows

The bass fishing was great last year closer to Half way haven. This year it's been slower. When you come to the T take a right to Alberts, there are some nice frog spots around there.
