fishboy Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 I was out a week and a half ago at the cottage and the water temperature had finally broken 70 degrees getting the fish a little more active. Smallmouth were relating to boulders and rock, and at the primary break to deeper water. Soft plastics such as tubes and stick baits were producing as were topwater lures like Skitter Pops and Pop R's. Here were the best two fish a 18" and a 20"er. Sorry about the photo quality but I was solo and using my phone.

fishindude Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Nice smallies, I gotta get up to the Haliburton region at least once this season, the bronzeback fishery is outstanding from what I've seen and read. Thanks for sharing
fishboy Posted July 28, 2010 Author Report Posted July 28, 2010 Not sure about boat rentals in the area! My thumb should be good to go by Monday(hopefully)! Cant wait! I think you can rent from most resorts in the area. You can likely find places on Kashag, 12 Mile (Wedgewood Marina) and I think Hawk Lake marina rents as well. 705-489-2429. The best bet might be to call Minden Live Bait 705-286-4826
