siwash Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 I'd say cast bucktail spinners to obvious cover (weeds, docks, logs) if you just want to catch a muskie, I think one of the easiest places is the Burnt River, launch in Kinmount and head up river, fishing the weedy bays, plenty of small muskies and the chance at a decent one too is the burnt river also known as gull river?
Sinker Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 No, the Burnt river is the Burnt river. Flows thru kinmount, into cameron lake in Fenelon Falls. S.
siwash Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 No, the Burnt river is the Burnt river. Flows thru kinmount, into cameron lake in Fenelon Falls. S. I looked at a map. It's called the Gull River flowing through Kinmount on my map... why is that? I'll check again...
siwash Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 Can you boat through that stretch of river north of Kinmount? Or are there obstacles/dams, etc? I have a 14' 9.9 HP and was thinking of giving it a go... Launch in town? Thanks!
siwash Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 (edited) Checked again... I guess Google Maps is wrong cause it's still showing Gull River through Kinmount... Edited June 25, 2013 by swordfish
Sinker Posted June 25, 2013 Report Posted June 25, 2013 That's the spot, whatever you want to call it. I call it the burnt river. You can boat up there as far as 3 brothers falls. S.
