Here's where it's at.

- The Silent generation, people born before 1946.

- The Baby Boomers, people born between 1946 and 1959.

- Generation X, people born between 1960 and 1979.

- Generation Y, people born between 1980 and 1995

Why do we call the last one generation Y? I did not know, but a cartoonist explains it eloquently below...Learned something new today!

I was taught that men wear trousers and women wear pants. Music had meaning, and food tasted real. It was not wrapped in plastic or a box ready to serve.

As for the Y generation. Y not?

I think the nicknaming thing started with the baby boomers and everyone else felt left out, so we started coming up with "generation x" and "the silent generation"

The term "baby boomer" has meaning behind it. The others do not.
