douG Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Please watch this one, more Great Big Sea. I love the idea of a Ceilidh, and usuallly end up trying to play over the talkers. Now I know that the answer is to have everyone play someting or odder.
bigugli Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 (edited) Ceilidh is a tradition as old as time itself. Also known as a kitchen party these days. Me I'm a big fan of the "Shanty Man" Edited December 6, 2008 by bigugli
mbac31 Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Love this type of music. Grew up listening to it. Took my wife(Mainlander ) home 2 years ago for her first mummering experience where you get to see this type of music for real. I grew up playing the fiddle, squeezebox spoons and the tinwhistle. Should of seen my wifes face. Great now I'm homesick.

That and watching Don Messers and his fiddle music every week on the CBC. Edited December 6, 2008 by bigugli
brkygetr Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 That is a great tune Misfish.....usually ends up cranked as loud as she'll go somewhere between midnight, the last beer, and bed. LOL Ya I can relate.
