mpagnan Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 What would be the ideal set-up (line strength, lures etc) for fishing steelhead? Thanks again, Pags
kemper Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 gonna have to give us a little more than that. Where are you fishing, river/lake/creek/harbour? Floatfishing/bottom bouncing?
mpagnan Posted November 19, 2008 Author Report Posted November 19, 2008 Pretty much new to the game. How about along Bronte and the Credit?
kemper Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 do a search of the forums for similar questions, it will turn up a whole bunch of great threads with tons of information
silvio Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Float fishing rig ( best used in river) 8 pound main line 4 gram float, 2 bb split shoot directly under float, 2 n1 split shot spread out a few inches apart, 3 n4 split shoot also spread out evenly, (add more weight if needed) micro swivel connected to 8 lb line on one side and 2 ft of 5-6 pound fluorocarbon leader on the other side of swivel with a number 12 egg hook at the end drift roe, worm and pink worms to name a few. Good luck
mpagnan Posted November 20, 2008 Author Report Posted November 20, 2008 Thanks for the info. Now for the steelhead. they can be fished for year around correct? Also, are the two main tribs in this area Bronte and Credit? Or are there some I'm missing?

mpagnan Posted November 20, 2008 Author Report Posted November 20, 2008 I agree...but the pressure is on! I can't believe all the fabulous pictures being thrown around here. I honestly wouldn't know what to do if I caught something like that.
Burtess Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Thanks for the info. Now for the steelhead. they can be fished for year around correct? Also, are the two main tribs in this area Bronte and Credit? Or are there some I'm missing? Take note of the regs before you head out on where and when you can and cannot fish... Burt
silvio Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Hope you like crowds! Crowds there’s snow its cold the only people out there are the guys that love what they do. Don’t discourage someone from trying something new. Pags this type of fishing takes time to learn but when you do learn it's extremely fun and rewarding so head out put in your time and the fish will come.
