rob v Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I came across this rod storage system in a fishing magazine recently. Anyone have any experience with it good or bad ? http://www.ezrodorganizer.com/ Thanks for sharing your experiences / thoughts. Rob v
bigugli Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 Your rods will gather more dust laid out horizontally.
bassjnkie Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) When I first saw that holder, I thought it was a good idea. So I decided to make the same thing. I put it over the garage like in the picture, well I don't want to use a ladder everytime I need a rod. Now I use the greay home depot hooks, screwed into the joists in the basement ceiling. Nice and neat, easy to get to. The rod holder in the link has to be mounted high up or else you get poked in the eye if they are low. I will post some pics of my setups, by the way those berkley locking holder are really good. Here are the pics of my 3 setups, works for me. But just an idea Edited September 14, 2008 by DanielM

bassjnkie Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 There Home Depot hooks, and the bonus is they are regular 76cents each.

My wife is so excited about the hook idea that she is ready to go out and buy them for me.... Did I mention that I'm sitting in our living room, surrounded by my tackle as I try to prepare for Lakair.... I think she figures to put me on one of those hooks.
bassjnkie Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 The hook thing, saves me alot of floor space and I know I won't step on a rod. This rod storage system post inspired me to make a "How to: Oraganize you tackle and equipment" LOL
rob v Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 Daniel M. - I like your ideas even better. Thanks a lot for sharing. I know where my rods will be "hanging" out this winter. Thanks again.
