Carp Posted January 13, 2007 Report Share Posted January 13, 2007 Winnipeg reported -48 with the windchill this morning. 3 people died across the Prairies this week too when their vehicles broke down and they tried walking to safety......terrible ! Sad news . We beg for cold ice fishing weather, but sometimes forget it can cause problems for some people. -48 wind chill is nasty stuff and many parts of the prairies don't have immediate help available like we can find around the GTA. Central Canada gets bitterly cold temps we could only pretend to understand in southern Ontario. I remember they reported -60 Celcius temps. for a number of consecutive days a few years ago without taking into account the wind chill factor.
