I've not heard good reviews on these reels and I like my Abus.

 

Plus, the handle is on the 'wrong' side.

You used to be able to buy a line counter for the C-3's, but I don't know if their still available or not, and I can't find the info on it anymore. I tried searching thru Google, but nadda.

 

You removed the entire side of your reel, (opposite side from the handle), and then replaced it with the new piece that that included the line counter.

 

Seems to me LeBaron sold them for around $60
