duckdog Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 Question for you all, I have a 15.5 old princecraft with a 4' beam, I rebuilt it has 1/2" ply floors with ribbing and 3/4" seats a large deep cycle battery, 30lbs thrust elect and say 100 lbs of gear + 170lbs of me, with my 20hp mariner what speed do you figure I would get out of it? Nelson
ccmtcanada Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 I have a 14 foot aluminum, no flooring, large deep cycle battery, 30 lb thrust trolling motor, 18hp mercury motor, say 100 pounds of gear. Bly and I had it out today at had it running full out for the first time since we bought it. The GPS clocked us going at 21.2 mph (34 km/h) on pretty calm waters. Not sure how much weight the floors weigh, but if it's just you in there, you should be able to beat our speed.
danbo Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 (edited) Me & Bubba figger 'roun 20mph! Ya gotta get the right prop! Get a 40 hp & she'll fly! Edited May 11, 2008 by danbo
HTHM Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 About twenty sounds right. Makes sense, my 7.5 hp pushes me along at 7.5 MPH on Gps
duckdog Posted May 11, 2008 Author Report Posted May 11, 2008 I was getting 14.2 trimmed out but I do think its pitched a bit high, just curious what other people where getting out of a similar boat, thank you Nelson
