danc Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 I took a drive this afternoon to a picturesque bay on Lake Superior. I was a little disappointed to see some rather heavy fog as I drove out there. But I should have known better. I usually get some nice unique shots in the fog. The bay has a mountainous west side to it. The mountain tops were covered in low clouds and/or fog. Down the road a way sits an old abandoned church. I'm sure that it was built in the 1800's. The church has been sitting idle for a few decades. The building has so much character. And finally, this lichen and ice covered rock made for a nice contrasting scene. HDR does an amazing job with rock.
Deano Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Great shots Dan. The rock really looks good in HDR. I haven't taken any pics since before Christmas, gotta get out soon. Got some filters and len's to play with.
shane Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Nice shots. I like the first one too. Winter and b/w seem to go together in a naturally way.
Guidofisherman Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Great shots1 I especially like the church shot as the HDR brings out the blue trim even better. Alan
danc Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks guys. I think that the church is my favorite. And Fireball. The first shot is a color photo. But the only two colors in that scene happened to be black and white.
Rich Clemens Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I agree. That first shot and the one of the church are great.
