John Bacon Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Trim all belly fat off any fish you catch ANYWHERE and enjoy your meal...after all you're not going to live forever.... Trimming the belly fat is a good way to reduce your intake of pesticides, PCB's etc.; however, it doesn't helo with mercury which accumulates in the flesh. I would be more worried about chemicals than mercury for Lake Ontario fish. Mercury is more of a problem up north in the shield lakes where nobody thinks contaminates are an issue.
