More likely originally from Mexico....we are experiencing a lot of produce problems from there.

Lol ummk, i wasnt worried about it since i prefer beef to chicken or fish and only eat fig once in a while. Ill tell him to stop worrying about it.

Trim all belly fat off any fish you catch ANYWHERE and enjoy your meal...after all you're not going to live forever.... :rofl2:

 

Trimming the belly fat is a good way to reduce your intake of pesticides, PCB's etc.; however, it doesn't helo with mercury which accumulates in the flesh.

 

I would be more worried about chemicals than mercury for Lake Ontario fish.

 

Mercury is more of a problem up north in the shield lakes where nobody thinks contaminates are an issue.
