  1. As a Leafs fan, this one is obvious. Reg season starts Tuesday. I'm pretty pumped about the Leafs this year. Let's see how the Leafs and my buddy Dion do this year. But the most exciting thing about next week for me is my annual trek to Kansas City for NASCAR chase race #4. This will be year #11 for me. What a fun week this is. Besides the race, we'll be attending the largest bbq competition in North America. The American Royal. It's just another big party. But before I leave on Wednesday, I have to get through two 10 hour days working along side tanks of huge Brook Trout, Lake Trout and Steelhead in a hatchery. Damn.
  2. So next spring I'm heading down to Florida for 6 weeks to do a little fishin' & relaxin'. I'm going to be in St' Pete's for the month of March and being a Canuck I can't be without my hockey fix for that long so I picked up some Lightning tickets to go catch some live hockey over in Tampa. It seems that Tampa is the third cheapest market in the NHL so seating is quite reasonable there. I took in a game last time I was there and had 7 row on the visitors blue line for $90 a seat. Be lucky to get nose bleeds in TO for that price. So, since I'm going to be there for the whole month I figured I would take in a few games. I got tickets for the Bruins on March 8th and Canucks on the 17th both sets are 5th row next section closer to the visitors net. I also just picked up tickets in the same section 4th row to watch the Sens lose on the 24th. The most expensive tickets were Boston (premium team on Saturday night) at $100 a piece. The cheapest were the Sens (anyone really surprised about this? ) at $45 a piece. With service charges etc my pair of tickets to the Sens/Lightning game were $116.40 US.
  3. Was working in the fields today with my younger brother and he unearthed this... Any ideas of age? Can't find any serial numbers or markings looks to me like a .22.
  4. A couple weeks ago I posted in the "wanted" forum looking for an ignition coil for my old chainsaw. Art found a cross reference for the coil from another brand. Found one on Ebay and ordered it. The inner laminate for the coil wouldn't fit the saw, so I pulled the laminate out of the old one and installed it into the new one. Viola! Spark! I resurrected this saw from a back corner of the shop about 8 years ago. The rewind was messed up so a co worker seen me working on it and said he had one, It ran well for several years. Then the chain started to get tight/loose two years ago. The clutch gear was worn out. This happened at the end of the season. Found one on Ebay and put it on a year later. Went to use it and the old brute wouldn't start. ....No spark. Dang! Found a supposed good used one at a local repair shop in another town, but it didn't work either. So I just borrowed dads for last year. His is a fairly new modern one that cuts great and sounds like a bee when it runs, but I still preferred my old Farmsaw. Runs at a lower RPM, but it has gobs of torque, just pull the throttle and cut. My dad was always concerned that the old saw didn't run a chainbrake. I was chatting with an old friend that sold these things years ago. He said he thought he had one in his back room, brand new for a P40. He did and it fit nicely. I don't mind the color difference
  5. I'm thinking of getting one of the infra red game cameras. Reason being apparentely humans don't see the flash of the IR LEDS at night. Some cretin keeps stealing our chopped up wood at the campground and needs to be dealt with. Any info or help would be appreciated.
  6. This is a web sized version of a pano image I took last fall. Still working on the full size image. I may or may not print it depending on the final outcome. It's created from 7 images and the full size version is 15,177 X 2848 pixels and 34MB in size.

  9. ~~~~Well finally repaired the crack in my bow plate, hardest part for me was just getting down on the ground flat on my back, under the boat. Started my hammaring off the old JB Weld that I had on there, which hadn't held up, and cracked. then using one of those sandpaper wheels, I sanded off all the old gunk I had tried in the past, and got the plate down to bare metal all nicely rought up then drilled 2 small hole at each end of the crack so it wouldn't spread, trying a new product to me JB Marine Weld, says it sets in 25 min. and hardens in 15 hours so I mixd up 2 packs of it squeezing all I could get out of the tubes, on to a clean surface, I allowed it to sit there for 20min. till it was almost firm then use a small scraper applied the Marine Weld to the crack first to get as much up the crack as I could, then spread the rest up both sides of the crack, laying it on thick, didn't want ti applie it too early, otherwize it just drops off. turned on a heat lamp underneath to speed up the drying time. It looks great best job I've ever done. now to get it wet

  14. Maybe a silly question but I need to take a queen bedset to the cottage on my Safari's roofrack. What would be the best arrangement? Boxspring below or on top? Or does it matter. 1.5 hr trip. I want to make sure it is secure. Lots of good memories on this bed. don't want to lose it peter
  15. My buddy had a trailer hitch installed on his car a couple years ago. From the beginning the lights never worked on our old trailer. When hooked up, even the car lights would not work. Even the indicators inside the car wouldnt blink. He brought his car to the place he had the hitch installed. They tested it and said it worked fine...even showed us the tester box that blinked when he signalled, braked, etc. We figured it was a compatibility issue between his car and the old trailer as the lights always worked fine on my car. Well now he bought a brand new boat and trailer and he's having the same issue. Its obviously the hitch wiring and the place he bought it wasn't any help. Anyone here have any ideas...a concrete issue that we can bring the original mechanic to have them fix? Thanks a lot. Alex
  16. I picked up a small fiberglass runabout with a merc. 65 hp blue band motor and a Viking 55 hp for 200 bucks on the weekend. The hull is toast needs new transom stringers and floors. 19. A couple months ago I purchased a triton atv trailer (flat bed) I have started to look around for some good ratchet straps to tie the bikes down with and I thought it would be easy but man is there a lot of crap out there , the last thing I need is a quad flying off the trailer because of some cheap straps (that would put a slight damper on the fishing trip) Anyways just asking if anyone has any info. on some good ratchet straps that are out there ?
