I did not check back until today and have now responded. Not embarrassed at all but should not have "pi..ed into the wind". Clearly I had an opinion and allot of people disagreed with it making some good points. My frustration had merit on its own related to my post. But it should not have had anything to do with the rest of the posts, the people or threads that take place or what topics are discussed. People either reply or don't and that is just that. I will continue to help where I can and from time to time will post questions seeking the same and clearly keeping my fingers crossed.

This board has lost its way
love2fishhave2work replied to love2fishhave2work's topic in General Discussion
All I have to say is wow! Sorry to make some people write so much, thought it would be ignored. Did not intend to offend anyone and some very good points were made. I guess I will stick around. So does anyone have any insight into G Bay vs. Simcoe -
When I first joined this board (not that long ago) it seemed that everyone would try to offer up some good advice on particular fishing questions. This served as a good information exchange. I was a contributor to it on both sides, asking and giving. I would also join the occasional debate. However, I am very disappointed with the last couple of questions I asked and even more disappointed with the useless non fish chatter and cheerleading that goes on while people who are looking for help get 1-2 meaningless responses. Case in point, "Simcoe vs. Georgian Bay", a legitimate question got 3 responses of little value, while "What is your first car" gets 86, sorry 87 now responses. When someone posts a picture of a fish, the accolades come out, "way to go", "great fish", "fantastic", "wish I was there", "you are the best", "I love you",.......etc., etc., etc., but if that same person asked for some advice, he or she would be lucky with 1 reasonable answer and not just a dumb comment. Seams that the board now serves as a chat message room for a small group of people who go to Lakeair once a year and do what they do and not people who wish to exchange info on fishing topics, looking for advice or as important offering it. To those who have helped me over the last couple of posts, thank you. To the rest, remember what this board is supposed to be about. Now I am going fishing.

Honey Harbor or Simcoe for Pike and Bass
love2fishhave2work replied to love2fishhave2work's topic in General Discussion
Very happy with my choice today. Perfect day on the water and caught plenty of bass (small and large) as well as several nice pike and an unexpected large Gar Pike. First one ever for me. Homework prior to fishing makes the day on the water much more enjoyable. -
Honey Harbor or Simcoe for Pike and Bass
love2fishhave2work replied to love2fishhave2work's topic in General Discussion
I am surprised no one has any advice for this question. -
I am going to spend a day on the water tomorrow trying for some pike and smallmouth and have not made a decission on Simcoe or Georgian Bay Honey harbor area. Anyone familiar with both? Would love to hear your comments on both or either one. I am familiar with Simcoe but am concerned that the carp die off has affected the pike and bass. Am I wrong? Also, if anyone fishes both, which would you choose if you were in my shoes? Any advice on fishing Georgian bay, honey harbor area would be greatly appreciated. Any feedback on current action on either body of water and presentation would also be very much appreciated. As the name dictates this is a rare occurance by me so I want to make it count. Thanks in advance.

Dude, if everyone had your attitude, vision and open mind, we would all still think the world is flat. Someone once told Einstein that he was playing with bad science.

Here are some links for you guys to review http://www.greencarcongress.com/2005/11/hydrogenenhance.html http://hy-drive.com/main/Default.asp?Page=88 http://hy-drive.com/main/Default.asp?Page=107 http://www.chechfi.ca/gtdownload.htm

There are a number of companies trying this approach for the trucking market because of the footprint and space require. The trip to this is not electrolysis, you did those expiriments in your grade 8 science class. The trick is getting the Hydrogen injected into the engine efficiently and not having it leak along the way. Some companies playing in this space ae right here in your own back yard. www.hy-drive.com or HGS on TSX Venture Exchange. They are working on this application for long haul trucks. Another Company is Martinrae (MRE on TSX), they are working on a passenger vehicle. They are a competitor of Magna and are a billion dollar company. This concept works, I have spoken with many customers of these companies who are on trial versions, but it is not reliable. There have been a number of starts and stops for these companies and they have much more to do with the design of today's engines and their on board engine management systems. In theory what happens is hydrogen after it is created on demand using distilled water and electrolysis is then injected into the part of the engine that houses the piston's. It's explosive burn capability leads to a more complete burn of the fuel. Thereby increasing efficiency. Now, none of these companies has a comercial product that they are selling. So with the millions of dollars that they have invested into this technology to date, I highly doubt that someone offering this on the internet for 200 bucks has the complete solution. In other words, run run run from it.

walleye in callander bay
love2fishhave2work replied to love2fishhave2work's topic in General Discussion
Got back Sunday. We limited all three nights out and caught a bunch of other eyes and pike throughout the day. Lots of rain but great trip. -
So let me get this straight. You picked up some guy who "owns the river" for a joy ride and that ride seemed to go bad. I guess that happens when one cruises for strangers in the woods. After reviewing a number of your posts, I am not surprised they did not throw you out of the boat, throw you a rope and tow you to shore. Had to be said. Now I am going fishing for 4 days and will try to avoid drunk captains who pick up strange men and offer them boat rides for kicks.

walleye in callander bay
love2fishhave2work replied to love2fishhave2work's topic in General Discussion
That is what I figured. Have been looking forward to this weekend since last year's first weekend in June but looks like mother nature did not cooperate. Hopefully they turn on while I am there. Maybe I will get to avoid the armada. -
To all of the Callander/North Bay locals or seasoned seasonal guests, I would love to find out if the flats outside of Callander Bay have started to produce? Coming up this weekend for my annual trip and wanted to see what the mood of the fish and anglers is like? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

they chose this site because there is no air traffic in that area. would have been interesting to see him try but my sense is he may have had second thoughts and this was an easy way out.

My New truck almost swam with the whitefish ... ALMOST
love2fishhave2work replied to cityfisher's topic in General Discussion
I have always wondered how guys trying to catch a few fish would risk life limb and car. I thought about this one for a while and finaly got it. This has to be it. Price of Perch = $8.99/pound Price of Whitefish = $9.99/pound Price of Trout = $12.99/pound Average cost of a new Grand Charakee = $40,000 Weight of a new Gran Charakee = 4261 pounds Here is my eurika moment Therefore Price of a new truck = $9.38/pound Now I get it. This one is easy. Price of a ticked off wife when you get home = PRICELESS. -
Lake Nippissing, Rice, or Stoney Lake?
love2fishhave2work replied to sbtennant's topic in General Discussion
Not sure where your family will be most comfortable. You indicate you want to target Walleye and everything else is secondary. At that time of year If Nippissing is your destination you want the east side of the lake if you want relativlely easy boat ride to where the walleye are. West bay is very shallow and the fish have already gone deep. Great area for Pike, not as good for Walleye. -
I have never fished in the fall before but plan to this year. What are the keys to walleye and bass for Simcoe and Kawarthas? Water temp, depth, structure? Stuff like that. Any adivice would be welcome.
-
Got out on Simcoe today, same thing. Had a follow by a small pike and that is it.
-
I was in NY about 20 blocks away on 9 11. Tough to think about it.
-
Thanks Johnny Bass, was hoping to see a few more responses before deciding. Again much appreciated.

Hey Guys Thinking of heading up to Nipp. Callendar Bay in either mid to lat Sept or early October. Fished here plenty in the spring but never in the fall. Anyone fish it that time of year and what are your thoughts on Sept. vs. Oct? Much appreciated.
