snow pack and water levels for Nipissing 2011
Grimace replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
It is reminding me of last year. The Frost on the jobsite is thawing on warms days and not coming back on the cold ones. Gradual and early. Makes for a manageable jobsite but very little snow in the bush means not much run off in the spring. -
The coyote numbers will take care of themselves if the food is in decline. Then it goes the other way. That is the natural order.

My buddy has started calling Reimer, "Optimus Reim". It's corny but I can't help but to chuckle a bit. Who knows what will happen, but it is encouraging to see them okay this way.

Woody Guthrie - Mean talking Blues. Great Satire song from the great one. -

My Buddy Caught a Giant Wiper on Lake Ontario!
Grimace replied to Aaron Shirley's topic in General Discussion
Sorry for the confusion. The "that's awesome" and "very cool story" comments were for the Wiper. The Lake Trout comment was for the museum. -

He got to see the world record lake trout at the museum. It was preserved. He was given a tour of the museum when he dropped the wiper off. -

That is awesome. I would have loved to see that Lake Trout. Very cool story -
I made the same argument in this thread and nobody crapped on me then. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49964&st=0 I do not think I was disrespectful in either of these two threads. I was merely stating a point. I think the disrespect in this latest thread was not shown by me. I did not imply anyone was a bad person or make a remark about changing my name to Grimace. I stated my points like an adult I thought. Sorry to offend, but I stand by my words.

You can imply that I am not a nice person all you want. It is not a correct assertion, and is based on little evidence as we have never met. I stand by my words that state when people are paid to sell something or endorse it they will lose a bit of credibility with some people. Others will take there fame on faith trust them 100 percent. I am in the first group.

Well done man. Looks like a beautiful day in the big ditch. Nice fish!!

I am pretty sure he was waiting for someone to say. "Hey it works!!". Then the joke would be on them, but no one bit. It is either that or, well, I don't know. Lol.

Obviously not Steve. Steve was just giving his honest opinion. It seems funny though how the pros instantly started yapping about how incredible live targets are the moment they started pushing paychecks their way. It is not funny or peculier, it is just business. Live Targets are wonderful as are Rapalas and a bunch of others. The fact that a few pros have switched to Live Target from Rapala does not make Live Target any better or Rapala any worse. Just as others have said (and were not jumped on), dont fall for the hype.
-
I hate to be a stick in the mud but these guys tell you what baits to buy because they are paid to. It was not long ago that everyone was sucking up all the Rapala hype because someone was filling up the glasses with the kool aid. Rapala make a great lure as does Live Target. Do not take a pros word on it though as they are paid to tell you. When everyday folk tell you bout a lure, that is the time to listen up.

His bloodlines are half Chinese half Scottish. What he looks like doesn't make any difference.

I think he may have been some kind of wannabe journalist or something. Anyways whatever his deal is, I would not want his fate.

I know it is early in 2011, but Mercman this post is going to win an award for most random topic of the year. Well done Buddy.

I am in tears over here.

Probably is. How many times a week does a cop get robbed at knife point? He may have had a point. I bet if he was caught street racing he wouldn't be put on paid suspension by the good old boys club either. I am done with this. The fact of the matter is that cops do not have to adhere to the law like normal citizens. Simple as that. They are also the ones busting citizens to the letter of the laws that they themselves do not follow. How can a cop keep a straight face issuing a speeding ticket when minutes earlier and later and on there own time they drive around like idiots. How do they issue a ticket for running a red light with a straight face when they throw the cherries on to get through them to get to Tim Horton's faster. Where they get free coffee for being the finest people on earth. The rest of us can not talk out of both sides of our mouths or we are taken to task for it. When there is any discourse about the state of the police the cops do just as they always do. Puke out the same old propaganda and cover each others behinds. I love how they scold citizens for not coming forward as witnesses. Then when 20 or so cops witnessed the unlawful beating of a citizen By a another cop there was nothing but crickets. Sorry but these are the types of things that make cops lose credibility.
-
Not the point. The point I was making with that line of discourse is this. Cops talk as if they are in the midst if a great and dangerous war every day when the fact of the matter is this, they are in a lot less danger than let's say for example (my example) a construction worker. Whe a construction worker gets killed some rich guy gets a small fine and when something happens to a cop the city gets a fevered bloodlust for revenge. And if you want to have a heart attack anywhere, try having one near a jobsite because most construction workers will CPR you back to life before the ambulance gets there.
-
A citizen would have lost their car, got a brutal fine and a mark on their record for every time they went to court and would have to lose parts of many paychecks fighting the ticket and years of insurance turmoil.
-
So I take it he is getting paid? It takes big brother to nab cops because they cover up each others crime. So the fact that cops are getting "done up" provides me with no solace as my point on the good old boys club remains as valid as ever.
-
It should be. But I guess there is not enough paper to print it all. And we couldn't have the citizenry losing even more respect for their city's finest.
