  1. Dont know whether you guys noticed when you were here but there are several rooms requiring trim O ya and there is this window that....................
  2. Here's some interesting acceleration facts. One top fuel dragster 500 cu in engine makes more horsepower than the first four rows at the Daytona 500 A stock Dodge 428 hemi can't produce enough power to run the supercharger. With 300 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive the fuel mixture is compressed into a near solid before ignition. Cylinders are running very close to hydraulic lock at full throttle. Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen that is dissociated gases from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases. Dual magnetos supply 44 amps to each spark plug. this is the output of an arc welder to each cylinder. In order to exceed 300 MPH in 4.5 seconds dragsters must accelerate at an average of over 4G's. Dragsters reach over 300 MPH before you have completed reading this sentence. Top fuel engines turn about 540 revolutions from light to light. Awesome power!
  3. Thank you ladies! There is hope after all
  4. Very nice Roy. I broke out in a sweat just thinking about sanding the floor. You did surprise me though, didn't think you could lift 500 lbs.
  5. You guys are soon gonna have the fishing mags paparazzi chasin' yuz down. Great stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Now isn't that just like something a woman would say? Ha. Well around my place in order to improve somewhat on everything all at once you have to make financial sacrifices and go with what you can get. On a cottage that is sneaking up on a 100 years old there are lots of things needed. Ya there probably was a little insulation value there Glen but when the wind blew it went right through it. Didn't get a sore neck though. But one board, one drink, one board, one drink maybe had something to do with it.
  7. Thanks fellas. Ya....tinder box is right. My biggest fear out there is fire. Well.....except for my wifes approval.
  8. Nice fish! Good to see some blue water.
  9. This past weekend I took the old pine boards off the ceiling of the dining room at the cottage. The reason for doing this was because it was never insulated and when the wind blew you could feel it inside. When removing the old boards a deluge of pinecones and associated debris came down with them. It was at least 4 inches deep on top of the boards. Geez....what a mess! Scooped it out with a snowshovel. Added the wiring in for the ceiling fan, insulation, vapor barrier and then the new pine. Air powered nailers work terrific for this job. Although getting a 12 ft board to stay in place while you nail it overhead can be a challenge. The ceiling fan was donated to us by my Mom who did some recent reno's on her house. I think it fits the decor OK but wifey hasn't given her approval yet. Still the trim work to complete ( that is the biggest pain).
  10. Happy birthday Wayne!!!!!
  11. 1. Any storms coming? 2. Got the Net? 3. Where's the worms? 4. Something cold to drink 5. A couple extra jigs. 6. Who wants to come along today?
  12. She's an awesome fishing partner. Baits up, lands and unhooks. Now if I could just get her to clean them.
  13. Smbhunter. Im just a few yards past Dads place. Drop in and say hello when you are here.
  14. Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with those expensive, Double-pane, energy-efficient kind. Yesterday, I got a call from the Contractor who installed them. He said that the windows had been installed a whole year ago and I hadn't paid for them yet. Helloooo? Now just because I'm from Newfoundland doesn't mean that I should be considered stupid. So I told him just exactly what his fast- talking sales guy had told ME last year... Namely, that in just ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves. 'Hellloooo?' (I told him) 'It's been a year!' There was only silence at the t'other end of the line, so I finally hung up. He hasn't called back, probably too embarrassed about forgetting the guarantee they made me. Never underestimate a Newfoundlander.
  15. Very good . Way to go Gerritt!!
  16. If you need another I will volunteer TJ.
  17. Some real nice fish there! My Dads cottage is in the background of one of your pics. LOL
  18. Don't be afraid of the synthetic. I used 5w30 Mobil or Castrol in mine all year. I usually plunk my boat in the water as soon as the ice is gone and don't pull it until freeze up. The lower viscosity range helped in the colder water. If you want to you can also go back and forth with regular and synthetic.
  19. I love to see innovation UF. Well done. The backyard is looking good too.
  20. Geez Glen, didn't know you had hair. Must be because you always have a hat on. Nice fish by the way.
  21. Tough crowd eh Glen!
  22. Doesn't anyone use an old tried and true Daredevil anymore? A few years ago made 7 casts off my dads dock and had 7 pike. Kept one for a snack.
  23. It's sometimes difficult to give an answer without it sounding spamlike so I try to avoid the questions altogether. I think enough around here know and PM me with questions they may have.
  24. Been a while since I had bikinis like those on board. Thanks TJ.
