  1. Last year I found tinted safety glasses with a 2.00 bifocal reading lens. $4.00 each, got several pair. They are OK but not polarized. Recently was at the Cottage Life show and came across sunglasses, polarized with a 2.00 bifocal. $20.00 each and I got 2 pair, they are very clear and cut the glare. The placement of the corrective lens isn't a problem.
  2. Happy Easter to all.
  3. Actually a fairly common problem. See it here quite often. All kinds of animals doing the dirty work. I fixed up a Honda CRV a month ago to drive. Took it to the cottage a couple times. Brought it in for an oil change last week and discovered a porcupine had chewed almost through the left rear brake hose. $50 bucks down the drain. geeez O by the way. We went and got a new Golden last weekend.
  4. Actually it would be fine by me Wayne! But some others may not be too happy! Thanks for the offer though
  5. Will just have to wait it out. Fish Bay was opening last week. With any luck the incoming water will help melt the ice. Also the sun is supposed to come out this weekend and the temperature rise. May be cutting it close. Time will tell.
  6. A friend of mine was looking at an airboat. He has a place on an island too. Only it is his principal residence. Wonder if he bought it?
  7. Thanks guys. It was going real good until the pouring rain on Friday and this foot of snow on the weekend. There was open water starting and I was looking forward to heading out in a week or so.
  8. I could be in trouble at my place. If the water keeps coming up like that and I can't get across due to ice, my boat could get trapped inside the boathouse. Also my stuff under the cottage could get soaked and .......geez I gotta get there somehow.
  9. Congratulations!!!!!!! I love seeing birth announcements! No greater news than that.
  10. Take a drive any direction around up here in the evening this time of year and count a hundred in four or five KM.
  11. That picture is something like our bi-monthly Pike from Europe. Seen it last winter, supposedly from Wisconsin. Who knows?
  12. Yes, I agree about Kyle! Seems to me if somethings happens to him during the race he pouts and ends up near the back. The kid does have incredible driving skill, too bad he is such an .
  13. Sorry I missed it yesterday Carole. Hope you had a Happy Birthday!
  14. Ya....I'm with ya man. Here is what Nipissing looked like today. A little open water starting. Couple more weeks yet.
  15. Well the sun is showing at the top of the door now. Soon will have to plug in the summer fridge.
  16. Joey...Thats the best one yet!.....Excellent!
  17. If the free enterprise system worked properly wages should be self regulating. The hydro position isn't free enterprise. It is the people of Ontarios hydro. We pay it, out of our pockets, and I say its far out of line. Now if you own a business and you are earning it in the free market without a handout that is what our country was built on. It pushed people to do well. Now they just expect it.
  18. Haven't got it hooked up yet Maverick. The generator is ready but now it needs to get it hooked into the house panel. Have a couple options, need to figure which is best.
  19. OMG they know where I live..........my power just went out :o :o
  20. A headline I seen today. To me this is just wrong. Ontario Power Generation President James Hankinson pulled in $2,475,500 in salary and Hydro One President Laura Formusa made $924,437 in 2008.
  21. *burp* O ya....spaghetti.
  22. Don't get me wrong here George, it isn't always the case. The OMC 9.9 to 15 conversion is as simple as having a proper drill bit size (and knowing which hole)
  23. George it may seem that way but there is usually a little more to it than that. Just because you add the capability of more flow at the intake doesn't mean the engine is capable of pulling it. Porting often comes into play here as well as exhaust. It may have the same bore and stroke but the ports might be smaller.
  24. On this model the grommet where the water tube from the pump enters the block is common for deterioration and splits. It is exposed to a lot of heat from the engine and exhaust. If this happens it may not get all the cooling required. To change this one the powerhead needs to be removed. Relatively easy to do as well. Just need a new base gasket and the grommet. If it is needed it may be a good time to check the mounts inside there too. Also common for exhaust damage over time.
  25. You can see on your second picture where the plate is supposed to be. On the transom bracket a rectangular shape below and ahead of the black idle knob on the left side. It has been painted over or removed for some reason.
