  1. A buddy & I were on Lake Huron at the Hydro Plant when the sky started to get dark, I mentioned we are going to be heading in & we hear over the Hydro Plant PA system that a severe weather watch has been issued & all outside contractor were to stop work & head inside, we have to head north & then south east to get to the Ramp we are almost ready to turn for shore & the temperature drops 5 or 10 degrees, we make it to shore pack up & head for home, the storm is just behind us all the way home, I open up the shed backed the boat in & as I get out of the Van the hail starts, very glad we didn't get caught in that out on the Lake, SBK
  2. Congrats on your Successful outing now get out there & Catch us a huge Salmon, if you can lol SBK
  3. I was to go fishing with a buddy in his boat but his son came home & wanted to go so I said great I'll take my boat also, Not willing to take my Skeeter to an in land lake since I just had it in Lake Huron, I took the 14' Aluminum out for the 1st time since last May I think, I might have to take it out more, Water temperature was 78 to 80 degree's, Started with a Bassmagnet 5" Swim bait, 1st Cast Smallie, lost 2 Pike over the next 10 minutes, switch to a BooYah Spinnerbait & caught 4 Pike between 16" & 31", then a Largie, back for another drift & 2 more Pike plus I lost 3 more, off to the other end of the lake to a patch of weeds the size of a house, 1st cast to the west side a largie, something hit my blades on the Spinnerbait on the south side, Smallie on the east side & a Pike on the North side, I've caught some decent sized Pike here in the past, her are a few pictures my biggest was 31" & Randy's biggest was 29", only 1 picture of his catch we were to far away to be taking pictures all afternoon, not to bad of a day for leaving home a 2pm & fishing from 2:45 until 8:30, sorry Team #10 but no upgrades, back at it this afternoon & evening. What a beautiful evening to be out & very peaceful fishing alone. too short of notice to find any one to go. SBK Randy had this 1 when I caught up to him about 8pm

  10. WHEN WE HEADED HOME SATURDAY AT 7:30PM THERE WAS ONLY 1 24" PIKE ENTERED IN THE DERBY, only 3 Pike entered & some one said over 400 fisherman, a 30+" was second & a 36+" was 1st, there were no kids entered so they made a draw, we had 7 under 22" Saturday & 3 under 22" on Sunday plus a catfish,2 Smallies & 1 Walleye, toughest fishing I've had on Belwood, but it was a good fund raiser for the Lion's SBK

  15. We are hoping to hook a few of the followers this year, usually find some nice ones just can't get them to bite & I'm not into live bait, I started going there in the late 80's fishing out of a canoe, I've had problem's with Jet Skiers in the past but nothing a Daredevil past the ear doesn't fix lol, we usually see the OPP & a CO out checking boats for Safety Equipment, Outdoor Card, Booze etc. SBK
  16. We planned on travelling to a lake about 1.5 hrs away until we saw what the weather network was calling for & man did they hit it on the head, started out grey skies & not a bad temperature, drove 20 minutes & the closer we got to the lake the darker it got, as we launch (3 Boats 4 Guys & 1 Wife) the rain starts & thunder's in the distance, we have a lot of follows but no takers then finally on the jerk paauussseeee Jerk Paauuusssseeeee wham a 20+ inch Pike then another then more follows, switch to a 5" Swim Bait a few more Small Pike but just our boat so far, then we are going along a long under water point & wham my partner gets a solid hit & he says it doesn't feel like a Pike, 24" Walleye on the Swim bait, he ended up with 1 LM Bass, 2 Rock Bass, half a dozen Pike & 1 Walleye all released & I ended up with 7 or 8 Pike with the biggest being 28", we only had to get off the Water once because I swear the storm was right beside us, the other boats only got 1 Pike, hopefully some of these tactics work at the Belwood Pike Derby this weekend Tight Lines SBK
