  1. my buddy and i (OFC member jonaton) went up to cooks bay after the storm in the morning. hoping for a couple of hours of fishing before the afternoon storm. we fished for an hour Jon cough a little bass (pic is still on my camera.) then it happened i tripped over my tackle box and got hooks caught in my shoe and all over so i picked up my lures and stuff and decided i would get a drink from the cooler. i turned around and i was one rod short i looked around and no sign of it. we turned the boat around and started looking in the water.after a half an hour with no luck i gave up. i don't have a trolling motor so we were just drifting when it went in.i have no idea where it went in to the water. now somewhere in the water is a 7 ft HM shimano clarus with a shimano cruxis reel.it was my favorite rod.i guess off to lebaron for a new one I'm still in disbelieve that its gone, live and learn i guess Travis

  5. i had to replace the bearings on my Sheffield.jb's fishing depot was able to order them for me travis
  6. there is no free parking.if you park your car anywhere that you didn't pay you will get a ticket. i have never fished inside the park but along the lakeshore near the parking there is open water from one end to the other. the best resource to find fishable areas is google maps. scan the satellite images and you can find places to fish good luck
  7. I have a sony 580i and I was surprised at the pics it took. It’s a 2 mp but no flash. Another option is a cheap point and shoot camera. You can go to xs cargo or factory direct or other referb stores and get a camera for under 40$. That mite be cheaper than replacing you phone. just a thought travis
  8. I also had the same thing happen. About a year ago I came out to my van in the morning and the drivers side sliding door was wide open, my glove box was emptied and all the stuff over my visor was on the floor. The only thing that was taken was my wallet and all the change in my cup holder. They left 5 fishing rods, all my tackle, binoculars, a camera, and a car DVD player. I think it must have been kids in the nighourhood because my wallet turned up the next day in a ditch down the street’s was luckey all the card were left in it including 2 credit cards only a 20 was missing travis
  9. i own the tomtom xl.I never go any where with out it.only once did it try to make me drive in to a lake you cant go wrong with tomtom travis
  10. i had the same bob izumi rod.when it broke i took it to ackmanns in mississauga ( i dont think i spelled that right)after the 3rd brake he could not supply that rod anymore so he upgraded me to a 1 piece shimano clairus.that rod hasn`t broke yet even if you dont have the broken piece you should still take it in to see what he can do i dont have the address or phone number(they are at confedration and dundas in mississauga)im sure someone one the board has that info good luck travis i just noticed where you are located so ackmanns is probably out but i would still check into warenty

  15. I picked this right off the link that dando gave in his safer boating info thread.(thanks danbo) Marking of Vessels 13. (1) No person shall operate a vessel that is licensed under this Part unless that vessel is marked with the licence number of the vessel in block characters not less than 75 mm high and in a colour that contrasts with their background (a) on each side of the bow of the vessel; or ( on a board permanently attached to the vessel as close to the bow as practicable so that the number is clearly visible from each side of the vessel. (2) Subject to subsection (3), no person shall operate a vessel marked with a number that is so similar to the marking required by subsection (1) as to be capable of being mistaken for the licence number. (3) Subsection (2) does not apply in respect of a commercial fishing licence number marked on a vessel pursuant to regulations made under the Fisheries Act. hope this helps travis
  16. I was chucking spoons off the pier for salmons in the fall .I watched a 20 lb carp chase down my 2\5 blue little cleo and just smash it. It chased it for a good 6 ft before inhaling it I landed it in shock.
  17. Thank you everybody for all the info. I have already changed the ownership of the boat in to my name through service Canada with the same number that it already had. I should have been more specific I am just changing the way the number is displayed on the boat. The boat is licensed federally so I will stick to only what it says on my license Thank you again Travis
  18. I bought my first boat and I have a question about the license number. The old owner has just painted the number on the front. I’m going to change it but there is no ON for Ontario before the number on the boat or on my license papers. Should I add the ON on the boat? I`m unsure because it’s not on the papers either I added a pick of my ugly 16 ft. sea nymph with a 60 evanrude its not on the water yet its taking a lot more work than I thought thanks travis
  19. try this http://www.free-legal-document.com/index.html .it says free but im not sure.but you can get the idea.they have a boat section travis
  20. if you are using the factory harness there is a seperate fuse for the running lights of the trailer and the running lights for the truck.fuse # 5 in the under hood fuse box (20A)is for the trailer and fuse #6(15A)is for the truck its self.make sure you check both fuses hope this helps travis
  21. Bumping the motor over is the easiest way. Before you do that you should unplug the connector for the distributor. When you bump it ,the coil will still make spark. If you get one of those sparks it can be an eye opening experience.I speak from experience (happened to me more than once) travis
  22. If you are not looking for marine specific parts, try an automotive jobber ( napa, carquest, acdelco) they have catalogs of electrical components. They might have something you are looking for travis
  23. for me its pike but i think i got bit by the mukie bug last summer .i like fish that can bite me back travis
  24. Acdelco makes stuff called "cleens combustion chamber cleaner" it is an arousal. I have used it to clear up engine misfires where carbon build up on valves was the problem. Spray it in to the intake with the engine running. I have also had good luck with seafoam in a spray bottle sprayed in to the intake. good luck travis
  25. Hi all im planning to buy my first boat. I thought to my self I don’t know the first thing about buying a boat. My questions are what do I need to know? What questions should I ask? What do I need to license a boat and trailer? How do I go about paying tax? Is there anything else I should do or know? I don’t have a boat picked out yet. Im looking for something small, 14 to 16 foot aluminum with a small motor and trailer. Any help would be very appreciate Thank you Travis
