Those fenwicks are super mass produced for small chain stores. They are of poor quality, bad workmanship, cheap carbon. For light use they are great. sp, I have a dozen Fenwicks with no problem, but I don't by them at CT. $79.99, you could have went to Lebaron and pick up a Fenwick HMX, which is 300% better. I use all thier line HMG AV, HMG, Techna AV, HMX, and Egal GT and never encountered a problem. Any hooo, I don't work for them and yes there are better rods. Daniel OCH

I had a security in the slums for 4 years, company shutdown 2003. Took 2 years off work looking for an opertunity in the bass fishing field, did the CFT for a year or two. Always loved carp fishing and relized that carp is my fish of choice, so I am pursuing my dream, have a few full and partial sponsers I am dealing with, but it's unofficial. Future, well, I will go day by day and see what it brings. If I have to say what I want for the future, high hopes, sponsership by Korda, Fox, and travel to France to catch huge carp. Bought my boat in 2004 from boatland, never again. I paid for a Lawrance finder and Minn trolling moter, he said that the contract said Motorguide and the finder Humminbird 100 LOL. On a good note I paid my boat $5000 cheaper than BPS. But do not buy from Boatland, you will regret it. Daniel OCH

The area I fish, Dover, the spawn is done. You catch the odd 30lb with roe. I would suggest to buy a small bag of cattle corn. This is how I prepare it, put it in a bucket of water for 24-48 hours, add sugar, then boil till soft, don't make it crack open. Put in bucket with the boiled water, let sit and your ready to go. You can use it on the hair and use it to chum. The pan fish will hit once and never again, too hard. When you get to your spot, chum your area. Set up, take you time, the best thing is to fish out of the chum, big fish are not stupid, and hang around the outside of the chum, while the smaller carp feast. Then every time you land a carp, chum out again with some free offerings. That will keep them in the area. If you do all this, you will never use canned corn again. Relax, I had 3 boats over 12 years. I used nothing but Costco (kirkland) batteries. I have never had a problem with them. No you are not neglecting your battery, actually to me it sounds like you bought a lemon. Bring it back to BPS, and buy something else. To stay on the safe side, chage you batter every month on the off season. I have a 9 year old kirkland thats still kicking. Don't take thing personal on here. Daniel

You are 100% correct, no one needs what a carp angler has. All you really need is 2 sticks, steelhead rod, runner reel and bread, thats how I started off 12 years ago. But then I became a UK tackle tart and invested $23,000 in equipment and tackle over the years. It's like bass you can use a worm and a bobber and you will catch one after the other. But I have $30,000 invested between a boat, equipment and tackle, just for bass. Look at the muskie guys, thousands. But I am not saying your wrong. When I take people out carp fishing, they bring their regular setup, after the first 20lber they take my spare rods, because they can't handle that fish with a 6'6" rod. But yes you don't have to spend thousands to catch fish, you spend it for the addiction/obsession. Again, I don't diagree with you in any way. Daniel
