It is funny and sad to read about fisher-hunter guys talking about how the big event screws up that season.A good friend of mine spent a whole year figuring out the perfect date so that it wouldn't interfere with either.Guess what -son #1 came along before pickeral opening and now 8 years later he is BEGGING me to help find a small boat to take the kids fishing even though he doesn't have time to go with me even if we take the kids. And I have to admit the ex didn't like fishing so for 15 years i didn't get to go and my son has never been in my boat and never been fishing at all-sigh. Just remember the oil ratio is for wide open throtle running,if you are trolling all the time or running slow you don't need that much oil.I have a 40 merc oil injected that I have taken back to the dealer twice for low oil consumption and he says you are not driving it fast enough to need alot of oil and he is right because if I run WOT the oil tank level plummets. vance

They key question here is HOW OLD are your motors? if they are pre 1960 I wouldn't go 100 to 1 maybe 50 to 1 but no less.If the 2 hp is air cooled I would stick with the ratio that you have been using even though you might switch to synthetic. Well I get to baby sit the neighbours Burmese mountain dog about once a month and even though the houses are identical she is still confused about things.The owner says that she is out of sorts for a couple of days after she goes home.So just be PATIENT and let the dogs mix,from what I have seen the other two they will be glad of another member of the family. vance

Last year I bought a Salus Marine fishermans PFD and I love it . Its more of a kayakers Pfd that is very comfortable to wear and after a bit you forget you have it on. The fisherman is not listed on the web site but is much like the comfort fit model. http://www.salusmarine.com/home.html vance

I use one of those encased in a plastic case mulitpurpose tool kits.It has all the tools tape and odds and ends that you will ever need ,and a prop wrench just in case. vance

My aluminum boat manual says the transom MUST rest on the trailer bunks as the weight of the the motor when trailering will cause warping of the keel where the bunks end before the transom. vance

The park you refer to must be just N. of Rossland ,I have seen people catching fish from there to Taunton and from there to Conlin Rd. NO BODY tresspasses on to Windfield Farms but I have seen people fishing north of there. vance
