  1. Heading to a friends cottage for the weekend, would prefer to find some decent smallmouth or pike. From what i have read, smallies are in their but lack size and no pike. Is their a specfic lake thats not too distant that would be worth trailing over to one morning? Ive never fished or even driven to this area of haliburton, usually stick to gbay and kawarthas for my fishing excursion. Was considering leaving my boat at home but it will be too nice of a weekend. Thanks.
  2. I use sunline, but liked super slick when i was using it.
  3. Had a great year on Simcoe last year, have yet to make the trip this season. Amazing smallie fishery
  4. Nice. Simcoe?
  5. Loving it.
  6. Lol. Make it 5. Embarassing defense.
  7. To someone looking for a nice cooler, i bought a Pelican 65 Elite at costco for 269.99 a few months ago which is a good price. Costco at Dixie Dundas had it marked for 199.99 today, got mine adjusted, they still had a few left. Solid deal if you can manage to grab one. Figured id post as they may be some looking into these high end coolers. No reviews as i haven't had a chance to test mine yet, its been sitting. http://www.pelicanprogear.ca/elite_coolers.php Ill be trying it out at the end of July, hopefully the ice will last 10-12 days. My old Coleman Extremes did pretty well. Held ice for 7-10 days.
  8. I was on scugog yesterday. Not much action. Managed a few crappie on pitching jigs oddly.
  9. That general area good for skis or bass? Never been to scugog, got called in this morning so i may give it a shot at noon, closest lake to me.
  10. Great report. Have been looking into a fly in trip. Someday..
  11. My uncle used to go their a lot. Said the fishing was excellent. But, out of every park he's been to in Ontario, for flies, he said it was hands down the worst. Like the previous poster mentioned. I was going to make it down their one year, i thought it was one of the parks shut down a few years ago. Guess not. Post a report when you come back.
  12. Germany has a strong team. Im betting against, only because a few friends of mine are hardcore fans.
  13. Ukraine didn't make it. Usually root for Spain or Brazil. Spain were completely embarrassed today. Wasn't impressed by Brazils first game either. I think a team in South America will take it this year.
  14. Spinnerbaits can be used for anything. I was on balsam Sunday, fishing weedlines away from shore and managed pike in the double digits, a few musky, perch and bluegill (surprised me) and 4 walleye over the slot (all released, don't keep or eat fish). Only one OOS brute smallie. When its a cloudy day with some or little chop, spinnerbaits are my favourite lures for walleye, same with lipless cranks. They just flat out catch them.
  15. Cant wait either, ill be on balsam most likely. Possibly pigeon.
  16. Nemesis 17p four blade. Get it. You can find it for under 200. Runs great on my Lund with a 115.
  17. If your looking for aluminum try the spitfire/nemesis four blade props. They are what I run. I may have lost 1 mph but holeshot and handling was mch improved.
  18. Didn't find any walleye. Did manage to find numerous areas with weeds but only bass and crappie. Nonetheless a good day out. Managed to fish spots all over the lake.
  19. Any update on conditions? Anyone mind sharing another good launch with parking? I don't mind paying a fee. Ive always used hiawatha.
  20. Will not be launching there anyone more. Can someone pm or post a good launch with parking.
  21. That's no good. I always launch at Hiawatha.
  22. We were catching on gbay last week in nasty weather, so they should still be around.
  23. Haven't been this year but I usually catch them in the south end literally out of the launch in the bed's
