  1. Nothing will change. Still operating independently
  2. Thanks for the responses. Put the custom on hold for the time being. Supplies wouldnt have been at my holding place in time when i go to the states this week. Any input on the new avids? They look pretty good, made in the usa and wire guides. Might be better for outside the hut for less ice up.
  3. Decided to make my own, stumped on the guide size to use. Dont think ill go to small because of potential icing issues.
  4. It looks like the flambeau infinity. Now im just trying to decide on the cheap case or going all out. I dont really need the tackle boxes because i bring a duffle bag along. 6 rods fit in that ct case?
  5. I'm guessing you have to fold your reel handles?
  6. Didnt want to start a new thread, any updates on the case? Im considering one. Wanted to make my own but the flambeau infinity 43 (almost an exact copy) is 80 bucks. When you add the foam, the price creeps up to almost being the same.
  7. Just a quick question, Looking to pick up an indy 2up. Only want to spend up to 2500, just for ice fishing use. Any year i should avoid? And what should i looking at before purchasing. Thanks
  8. I use the power catch which is great and imo the best net for skis. He has a smaller boat so prefers the foldable to save space.
  9. I know. Ill advise him to buy the power catch mesh as i believe it fits on. Hes been looking for a foldable net. Not much else out there.
  10. I got free shipping. I just ordered it for a friend as a gift. Used code 99blkfri. Its the canadian site. Came out to $192Cad after tax.
  11. For anyone looking for a Frabill 36x38 storable http://www.cabelas.ca/product/74307/frabill-power-stow-36-x-38-landing-net Cabelas has a deal for $169 use the code for free shipping on the front page. Seems like a good price, but the price also seems to have gone up. I needed this net in the summer but a lot of places were out of stock. Got the power catch instead.
  12. Thanks for the opinions. Main reason im looking to go custom or thorne is because i want a 36" rod. Have a lot of space now with my clam 1660. Not to many stores have much over 28.
  13. Im looking to purchase or make a pair of ice rods for lakers/whitefish, even though i catch lakers off my plain ht rod. I was considering a thornebros rod. Does anyone from the board have experience with these rods? Are they worth it? I could probably build some nice ice rods for the same price, just unsure of what blanks to use.
  14. I picked up the 1660 thermal from the states. Getting it tomorrow. Ill let you know what i think. I did have a four to six man hub previously. In wind, it would be tricky solo unless you put an anchor down. With two, its easy.
  15. Yep. I wouldnt consider the bb because of the lack of free spool and lower gear ratio
  16. Not sure. I shipped mine to wny storage in the states, picking it up next week. After a code and cashback, I paid 85usd for the pair. Good deal. Lets see how they preform first. Supposodly the drag is suspect.
  17. Also picked up a Clam 1660 thermal from the states. Switching from a command post style hub.
  18. I ordered two 2014 black betty 6061 to try. Their being cleared out for 49.99 at gander mountain. After a code 90 shipped to a holding company.
  19. Watch out Buffalo. We are coming. Tank for McDavid.
  20. Have you tried these? In trying to find gloves that double for fall and ice fishing. Considered these, the kast gloves or wool gloves like listed in the first post.
  21. Just in severn. Drive through little lake and your in the pool. Thanks for the tips. Ill report back sunday. Looks like its going to be an awful weekend.
  22. Thanks guys. Well ill bring the gear along, try a few casts. Hopefully the bass will be on, didnt have to much success this year there except for in go home.. Weather looking pretty poor this weekend also.
  23. Usually do ok for bass and pike. Not one of my favourite lakes to fish but was invited up to a friends cottage here. Is it worth bringing up musky gear? Oh how i wish they were on the other side of the locks lol.
  24. Nice. I landed a 5lb smallie today on a spinnerbait. We were on pigeon, fun day in the rain.
