  1. already sent an email to Quantum and this is their reply: I am not expecting them to come to my house and exchange the reel, but shipping the reel to the States at my own expense is really pushing it... I'm not even doing warranty work here, this is a clearly a case of poor quality inspection and defect(s)... The problem is, I don't seem to be the only one seeing such problems on the reels.
  2. Here's an email I shot to Quantum: They have replied and asked me to ship the reel at my own expense to the States, upon further clarification, all I could do at the moment is to bring it in to Mississauga and hope for the best. Not necessarily the best service I have received (in comparison to Shimano), and the finish of the reel is definitely not worthy of the $200 price. It doesn't seem to me that Quantum really cares about their products. Here are some pictures for reference
  3. catch fish on all of the lures/baits that I have so I could justify my purchases
  4. i'm not sure if I'm right or not, you might need a Toronto Harbour License to operate around these waters

  8. they are nice.. but to me, they're not as refined as a Shimano Compre... on the side note, I also find the Veritas tip heavy as well
  9. lebaron would be starting their no tax sale tomorrow.. it's worth noting that they will have the Shimano Symetre FJ/RJ marked down to $75... picked up the 1000 and 3000FJ already

  14. finally, it's about time.. They really need to stock up their Markham location... they run out of the good colors/sizes all the time.. Mississauga is much better in terms of selection, if only it's closer
  15. Sorry if repost
  16. I think while it 'attracts' the fish, it doesn't necessarily mean that the fish would bite, it could just mean the fish are on high alert
  17. Just got back.. prices are fair for the Rods and Reels, nothing really caught my eye.. I did load up on the Kopper Live Target stuff.. I find that LeBaron has better prices especially if you have a membership... I did find a last season's G-Loomis Soft Shell Jacket from Pro J Tackle for $80 (Reg. $150)
  18. Air Travel - Passport Ground/Water Travel - Passport or EDL (Enhanced Drivers License)
  19. does anyone know if the show will be mainly cash or would credit/debit be accepted? I'm not going to lie to myself that I'm not going to spend, I rather go prepared
  20. there's also a Shimano Reel Cover on the reel as well
  21. I have the HB Ice-55, loving it so far.. esp the large display.. but definitely get the best one you can afford... If you are debating between the ICE-55 and ICE-45, get the 55... chances are you'll want to get the bag down the road and the 55 comes with the bag
  22. Hey, Gonna give this a try... I was ice fishing @ Lake Scugog at night on Jan 30th... I started walking out from Goreski Landing... and when we got to our spot, I found out I lost one of my fishing rods. I tried looking for it very hard around the area and on the way back with no luck. If you found it, please let me know... I'll try to come up with some type of reward... The rod and reel is not anything of high monetary value, but the reel has been with me for over five years and it carries sentimental value to me... here are some details Rod: Bob Izumi Medium Heavy Reel: Daiwa Emblem S spooled with Rapala Titanium Braid, there's a swivel snap on it as well... If anyone of you are going for fishing on Scugog and found the Rod, please PM me... greatly appreciated Long
  23. I have the finbore III 6 inch... never looked back
  24. can't do it on a 4lb braid.. it'll cut my hand off
