  1. I think some of us (me included) have been swooned over technique specific rods, when all you really need is one, maybe two max (casting & spinning) that would cover 90% of the fishing out there. I'm just a weekend angler, but I always find it intriguing playing with different rods and reels. Just to get a glimpse of their though process of how they interpret would be the best tool for the job. Ya, this is what I was being worried about...I think I'll just be more conscientious with total lure weight (jig/sinker + trailer) and stay within that range to get the optimal functionality of the rod.
  2. Agreed. I've seen a guy on YouTube who caught a bass drop shotting a Twizzler's lol. I was just wondering about staying within the range of the rod's lure rating. The jig rod has a 5/16oz-3/4oz rating and being a jig rod, I was wondering if it takes into account of the sinker/jig + plastic or not. If I choose a 3/4 sinker and add a 5" plastic craw, the overall weight would prob add up to 1oz. Not too worried about whether or not it will catch fish, but moreso having the rod work within its range properly. If I use a spinnerbait or crank, I'll make sure to stay within the specified lure range.
  3. This may be getting into the nitty gritty or perhaps over thinking the situation, but when you rig, do you take into account the overall total weight or just the weight of the jig/tungsten sinker? Eg., if a rod has a lure rating of 5/16oz-3/4oz, does the total weight of the sinker and plastic stay within that range or you just take into account the weight of the sinker/jig only? This was just something in my mind for a while. I usually just choose the weight of the jig/sinker and disregard the weight of the plastic, which perhaps is being sloppy on my part. Thanks.
  4. My dad has a Stradic 2000FG that he bought from new, which influenced my decision to get a new Stradic FJ and I've never had any complaints. Great reel and the handle turns effortlessly. I've never caught any monster fish with the reel. Tried salmon with 20lb braid, but I quickly saw the backing when it ran off into Lake O, but still felt fine afterwards. A little on the heavy side, but it'll depend on what rod and application you'll match it with. Any light weight rod (around 4oz) felt like a better match up with a Ci4, at least to me. I tried matching a 803s GLX with the 2500 FJ and it felt too heavy. I paired it with a friend's Ci4 and immediately wanted one. Lol.
  5. Dunno if it was over the truck. I think they just wanted to murder someone for the sake of killing someone. That's so messed up. There was an article where they interviewed the person who was targeted before Bosma. Because the previous target was 6'4", 220lbs, and served in the Israeli military, they took a pass on him. But ya, that first guy was pretty shaken up to have learned that he was a potential target.
  6. Wouldn't be surprised if the NBA brass are just trying to milk it, since Raps vs Cavs pulled down their ratings. lol Especially, with so many days in between games. Earlier in the playoffs, it was every other day and now the finals are like every 3 days. lol Game 7 ratings will be through the roof, but that many days in between kinda makes it anti-climatic. I'm unsure who I'd want to win. Warriors with their season leading wins or LeFlop with his conquest to greatness...
  7. I will admit, sometimes the quality of the bait will matter. I was using Booyah topwater frogs that were around $5.50 at the time. LT Frogs were around $12.50. The Booyah frogs lasted maybe 5-8 bass and then on forth, it would be ripped to, takes in water really easily, and the tassels would 1/4 missing. LT Frogs have lasted me much longer for sure.
  8. Just came across this short video, that touches a little bit of the topic in this thread:
  9. Lol seriously??? Ok, the girlfriend should have her tubes tied and not be allowed to further contaminate the human gene pool lol. That almost reads like a National Enquirer article.
  10. Worth seeing how many fish u can get with that setup
  11. I wonder if you could tie on a 3-way swivel and have two of them working the pads/grass. lol Just thinking of it based on A-rigs that ppl use. lol
  12. They're made to swim upright, with the hooks facing upwards, just like the regular frogs. Just another top water option to try out. I think I will stick with my LT hollow body frogs and Horny Toads.
  13. Mike Duffy, OJ Simpson, Kathleen Wynne, Dalton McGuinty etc were never convicted, so does that mean that they were innocent? And you paint him as being a radicalized Muslim...was he convicted of being a radicalized Muslim...but you're saying that he is because someone else said he was too, right? Well, his ex-wife said he was a domestic abuser, but you want to claim that he isn't because he was never arrested/convicted... Hillary Clinton isn't out to buy a gun. You can compare the USA vs London crime stats: http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/United-Kingdom/United-States/Crime
  14. You left out the part that he was also a domestic abuser, mentally unstable, and investigated by the FBI TWICE for his links to terrorist suspects. And with the current systems in place, he easily obtained the weapons needed to carry out the attack. Sure, you can say if there was a gun-reform in place, he could have made a bomb, but that's not the reality here. It's easy to talk the hypothetical and dismiss the reality of what happened...you can go on forever of what "might" happen, but at what point do we start doing something to start make a change to prevent what's already happened. "Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it." – Winston Churchill
  15. Not sure if this was passed around, but this experiment always made an impression on me. Sure, you can call it a biased experiment, but it doesn't change the history of what happened. Not everyone is/can be responsible with owning a gun and that's probably the difficult part to please everyone. But ya, AR15 rifle? Really? Any average Joe can buy that and we saw the end result from the incident. It's clear there's a flaw in the system, but it just gets politicized and it never gets fixed. This is 2016 and as such, the Bill of Rights should be updated accordingly.
  16. Ticket scalpers have always existed and only now it's being brought to our full attention because some feel the injustice of someone making a little money off of a terminally ill person. Not to offend anyone in the trade, but funeral homes have forever made money off dead people when families are in full mourning—they can easily charge $10,000 for a service. Thus far, much of the frustration and anger have been voiced by the fans regarding the inability to acquire tickets and the price increase seen on re-sale sites...not so much about scalpers taking advantage of Downie's health. I think what is the problem is how major resellers acquire the tickets. From what I've read, they use ticket-bots and that usually leaves the average concert goer at a huge disadvantage. Most of the time, we have no idea how many tickets are actually available for sale...they reserve some tickets to friends & family, VIP, sponsors, etc., and in the end, how many tickets are left? I don't think the promoters really care since they were able to sell out the show...they've made their money, covered their expenses, and onward with the show. I just think that fans are directing their anger and frustration at the wrong party, while major ticket resellers, like StubHub, are laughing their way to the bank.
  17. Heard the recording this afternoon and I think the radio host is a dink. Just because you can't afford it, doesn't give you the right and cry like a little baby because it's out of your reach to afford. If you can't afford it, too bad. Live within your means. This concert isn't life or death, but the radio host decides to act out his inner childishness to prove a weak point. It's supply and demand. If you want a contractor to work on your house, but can't afford his "jacked up" prices, do you call him up to drive an hour only to tell him to "shove it" with his high prices? That should result in some sort of beat down. What a whiny turd. Wish I was a radio station boss and so I could tell him to come to Toronto for a radio gig that will pay him $1mil per year, only to tell him "SIKE!!!" and have him drive back to his crappy job in St Cats.
  18. When you say 0.2 doesn't sound like a lot, it should be interpreted as 20% or 1 in 5 walleye. 20% of known fish died and that sure sounds whole lot different than just 0.2. But I agree. If fish are kept like that for tourneys with those kinds of heat, fish should be put in a fish fry instead of floating down the river belly up.
  19. So, does the MNR step in to enforce the "abandoning fish that is fit for consumption" rule? Considering they have pics and recorded evidence, it should be a field day for them.
  20. So many things to be proud of our Raps and the fans at the ACC certainly acknowledged the team with 2:30 left in the game, despite being down 21 pts. Even Lebron seemed to take notice of the cheering crowd after the end of the game. Perhaps for him to cement his greatness, he should play for us Would be nice though. Chin up for the Raps, they faced through so much adversity and taking two games from them says a lot. They'll be hungry again next year.
  21. Only down 12! It wasn't looking good when they were down 21. Nervous! Lowry is feeling it tho!
  22. If we win, we'll be without Biyombo...that's huge and exactly what the Cavs & NBA suits want. Such bogus on that play.
  23. Some "journalists" would do anything to sell a story. I read the non-story and had zero references to what the players were actually doing. Were they gambling or just passing through on their way to their hotel? The least he could have done is find out first before printing a story to cast them in a bad spotlight. I wouldn't be surprised if Casey stopped taking questions from him down the road. Way to support the home team...what a loser. In the meantime, it's nice to see DT busy. To watch the Raps or watch the Jays???
  24. Man, I'm speechless. Although, it wouldn't be classic Raps if they didn't take one step forward and two steps back. lol Maybe their gut check got left behind at the border? I feel confident with them winning Game 6, but Game 7 seems like small window. The Raps have stepped up to adversity and I'm sure they will do that again. Games 3 & 4 were such brilliant displays of competitiveness, whereas Game 5 was a total head scratcher. Friday is gonna be a loud one in the city.
  25. I figure that would be close to the weight limit of a boat lol. 6'10" prob be around 250lbs avg, 750lbs, plus yourself...maybe 180lb? So you're looking at over 900lbs lol.
