  11. I cant think of the name of the one my Brother uses, other than its in the far S.E. part of ottawa On Bank st, right on the Rideau river. This inspection wont be free so you will have to make a deal with the seller. The seller may have bills indicateing past service. Ask to see them. Or you could buy a used package from a local Marina. Then you can be sure that its been at least inspected and serviced properly. PS An outboard is not like a car. Oil and filter chages, lower unit oil changes and spark plug replacement on a regular basis, it will last 10 times longer than a car motor.
  12. Hes got a great pair of hands too Dad says he will be holding a rod by the time he is 2
  13. Cripes ya!! in broad daylight the adrenalin was pumpin I am far less fearful now though. I am better prepared for my next one, although i do not ever plan on fishing them alone. For the inexperienced, it would be an accident looking for a place to happen.
  14. I hope they don't have too much mess to clean up The whole eastern seabord took a really bad hit. I have all my flashlites at hand, and my generator is gased and tested just in case. Here in kweebec, we lose electricity at the slightest wind fart it seems
  15. It works really wel too. I sat in the driver seat, and positioned it with a rod in the holder, until i found the place where it gave me the best access, without interfereing with my sonar or console.I just have to touch the rod to feel if i have weeds on.Plus, i tied a 4 foot flouro leader to the main line with a swivel. The swivel catches any floating weeds before it reaches the lure.
  16. One step at a time Lew. Once i replaced the fear of them with respect, i was ok.Takeing my first one in my hands, and feeling it moving and seeing the teeth, and looking into its eyes was a humbling experience for sure. Like being a dragon hunter.
  17. Well, what can ya say about an honest answer like that I dont blame ya a bit. Fighting a Musky in the darkness when you arent expecting it would scare the crap outta me too.

  22. I thought maybe i would try and get a bit of water time in today with the wife. Its calling for 90-100KMH winds here and 100cm of rain tomorrow, so off we went. Tried trolling up the shipping chanel and into the Laprairie Basin, but caught nothing.I stopped the boat, and we decided to to change up and try another tactic. Put on the old worm and spinner that works so well here, and began a slow drift back the way we came, using the trolling motor to keep us along the weed edges. First couple of fish were dink Perch, then i caught a small walley.Shortly after that one, i caught this. The only really photo worthy fish of the day.17" SMB Nothing fights like a good smallie Put 2 more Walleye in the boat, a 40 and a 47cm(in the slot). and caught a little Pike About 24" long. Dink Perch were everywhere, and after feeding them a bit, we decided to get ready to head for shore. We stopped beside a boat with a father and 2 small sons, and gave him a couple of our secret homemade spinners for his kids to use, then left. On the way back, we were flagged down by a man and woman on a jet ski.Ran out of gas Dont they have a gas gauge on those things Towed them back to shore and headed for the dock. Twas a good day on the water.
