  1. Wow, the last 2 times I have been to try to fish Bronte Pier I could not get a parking spot. The town of Oakville has made almost all spaces in the main lot and the adjacent lot with the clubhouse "parking by permit only" Very frustrating. The only non permit spots are one line of spots on the right and that's it. All other spaces are either parking with a trailer and parking with a harbour permit. Been fishing here my whole life as many of us have and now its tough to access now. Sucks. Is the Hamilton Lift Bridge Pier still accessible to fish? I know the Burlington side has been closed off to pedestrians. Not sure about the Hamilton side. I need to chuck Cleos off a pier for the salmon run! lol Where to go now? lol
  2. They are pricey but the Tranx reels are amazing. I have the 400A which is 5.8 to one gear ratio but they make a faster one for burning bucktails. Either the 300 or 400 would be fine.
  3. Awesome! casting from shore?
  4. Cast Da Mepps! A Mepps Black Fury Dressed in Red and Black will out compete worms I'm telling you
  5. Will this work for peen?
  6. ya I don't know why this hasn't got more attention. They are targeting and catching/taking pics with muskie during the off season (usually between December 15th and june 15th in that zone if I'm not mistaken). There would normally be charges laid all over this kind of thing, but I guess because its still a super rare catch people are looking the other way.
  7. the biggest issue with mandatory winter tires is that Canadian's by and large have no money any more thanks to the sky high cost of living in this province/country. There is an affordability crisis of everything right now, people don't have an extra $1200 lying around if they were forced upon drivers. I get the benefits, I get the fact that the summer ones will last twice as long etc. it's the mandatory up front cost that is the problem. People can barely afford to eat right now, let alone buy winter tires. and the carbon tax is going up again in April.. A fart could do a better job than Justine Dildeau.
  8. That's awesome. I went to a seminar Mike gave at Fishing World in Hamilton a few years back. I learned a lot about muskie fishing.
  9. I drove 2 hours to catch the one in my profile pic (from shore). Not a monster but still my favorite fish I've ever caught freshwater (I caught a bonefish in the bahamas from the beach on my honeymoon- that is my favorite saltwater fish lol) I'm sure the biologists will be all over this to see if there is a viable population of muskie breeding in Toronto Harbour now.
  10. F that they make the best rods out there and they don't break unlike so many other brands.
  11. I will still buy G. Loomis rods. Been using them for 30 years and I won't stop lol
  12. Hank Parker recently fell out of his tree stand and was in hospital. He fell 30 feet He posted about it on his Instagram page. That might be who you were thinking of?
  13. Roland Martin's Youtube Channel is 100000x better than his show ever was and it is very instructional. Highly recommended
  14. no worries this time of year with the cooler water they are pretty tough, probably took off like a rocket.
  15. Awesome! were you able to land him?
  16. oh no was the pup ok? hopefully got checked out by a vet , i'm sure if there were puncture wounds antibiotics are needed.

  18. awesome fish!
  19. Agreed. They are so much more colorful and green compared to the LSC fish which seem to be much more pale (but are bigger)
  20. awesome!
  21. Do bucktails/Mepps baits work even in fall when the water gets cool/cold? I know guys throw big rubber baits then but do the bucktails still work? just have to slow roll them? thanks
  22. They are there. we stayed at Wild Woods cottages a few years ago right by the mouth of the river and there was lots of pike there. All hammer handle size though.
  23. Which horror stories have you read? they seem to get glowing reviews from what I have seen and mine has been flawless. the only thing I recall seeing was when they first came out they had some where the drag would loosen on its own for some reason, but I believe this was fixed by Shimano.
