  1. FMZ20 I write this letter in shock, the response from the Ontario federation of Anglers and Hunters shocked and prompts me to wonder what their mandate is. Today I received an official response on the two fish limit in lake Ontario (FMZ 20). This is a direct copy and paste "The ofah reviewed the proposal among staff and the ofah fisheries advisory committee. The ofah does not support the proposal changes, as there is not enough science/evidence to support them. This letter came from Brian Sheppard, Zone E director. How can the OFAH take this type of stance when, we limit the amount of fish taken to 2 in the river because we are aware there is an ongoing issue with declining numbers, so why then would the OFAH not support a stricter limit on the boaters fishing the same fish in the lake? I encourage each and every person that is a member of the OFAH to voice their concerns over this stance on this proposed regulation change. To contact the OFAH call or email them (Phone: 705-748-OFAH (6324) Fax: 705-748-9577 E-Mail: [email protected]) or contact Marc Desjardins at the lake Ontario management unit phone number 613 476 3287 or email at [email protected]. Thank you for your time reading this letter once again Please make your Voice heard!!!

  8. sorry it was late at night when i got the message... the fishladder guy was talking to the mnr because the coboug creek lift uses stuff from the fishladder at the ganny. he was told there would be no cobourg fish lift this year .
  9. Had a conversation with a fellow ganaraska fish way operator and he tells me the mnr are not going to allow rainbows over the ladder so they can protect the atlantics... this seem outrageous to hurt a fishery that is doing fine to help out a fishery that may not make it two destroy one to help the other makes no sense to me

  17. bell owns tsn just did a google search BCE is the parent of telecom Bell Canada; the company sells landline, digital TV, and Internet services in addition to wireless. CTV operates Canada’s number one TV network with 27 stations across the country and 30 specialty channels (including TSN). They also own CHUM Radio, which operates 34 radio stations. Add mobile to a TV and Radio marketplace – filled with great content, including Olympic 2012 rights – and you have the beginnings of a great integrated marketing plan. In today’s digital age it is extremely important for companies to advertise across multiple channels. To be able to advertise through a vertically integrated company that can take advantage of video delivered on multiple screens is extremely valuable. And for the consumer, will it mean they can now have CTV channels streamed directly to the iPhone? CTV and TSN live on my Bell iPhone might be a good thing. so they may bid on it as well
  18. does bell not own part of tsn ?????
  19. guy fishing underneath the cnr tracks at the ganny today . i said to him you know you have to be south of the tracks ... he said as long as im and not north of the tracks who cares.. i said the warden will.... some people just dont understand... then when the warden comes he will cry like a baby
  20. ganaraska river is high but fishable . they caught some fish today but not in great numbers. if your on facebook check out ganaraskafishway for reports of fishing and how far along is the rainbow run
  21. The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is looking into selling its part of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the financial juggernaut said in a statement Saturday. The Wall St. firm of Morgan Stanley has been hired to find potential suitors for its shares in MLSE, according to Quebec newspaper La Presse. Teachers, as it’s more commonly known, confirmed the potential sale in a release Saturday night. “The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan today stated that it will explore the possibility of selling its 66% majority share of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, and will be making no further public comment on the matter,” the statement said. The La Presse report cites a source involved in preliminary discussions regarding the sale worth a reported $1.3 billion. MLSE, the largest sporting group in Canada, owns the Leafs, Raptors, Marlies and Toronto FC. The group also owns the Air Canada Centre, BMO Field and Ricoh Coliseum, and Leafs TV and NBA TV Canada. If completed, the sale would the largest in Canadian professional sports history. The potential sale does not affect the 20.5% share of MLSE held by real-estate mogul Larry Tanenbaum, who has the right of first refusal on the pension fund’s share, along with TD Capital, which has a 13% stake in the sports giant. The hiring of Morgan Stanley will now allow the group to come up with the highest possible bids before approaching Tanenbaum and TD Capital. Tanenbaum has long been interested in becoming sole owner of MLSE, but whether he can match the potential bids remains to be seen. Got go-ahead from NHL? If Teachers did indeed hire Morgan Stanley, it would mean it got the go-ahead from the NHL, which must be consulted before any possible sale discussions can take place. Watching the Leafs on the giant screen outside the ACC as they found a way to beat the Sabres in Buffalo Saturday night, Mike Campbell said it makes sense the Teachers would be trying to sell. “They’re probably at a point where they’ve maximized their investment and it’s time to move on to something else,” the Mississauga man said. “It’s just smart business, from their point of view.” Campbell said he has never taken issue with the teacher’s involvement in the Leafs. “But I’d really like the next owner to be someone who has a real love for the game,” he said. Teachers has been a shareholder of the Maple Leafs since 1994, when it purchased a 49% stake in the club for $50 million. If the sale goes through for an estimated $1.3 billion, the pension plan would see more than a 1,600% return on the initial investment. The battle for sports franchise ownership between telecommunication companies has been heating up as of late as it could spell exclusive coverage of games. It has been reported that the pension fund and Rogers were close to settling on a deal for Teachers shares in MLSE. Rogers owns the Toronto Blue Jays and the Rogers Centre, worth a reported $326 million. Peter Morrison, who also took in the Maple Leafs big win from outside the ACC, said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman would likely relish the idea of the media giant buying the Teachers’ shares. But he’s not so sure. “I think Rogers controls enough,” the Beach resident said. “But who else could afford the shares?”
  22. you are correct . but are they not partners in alot of these things. ??? if you hang around dirt dont you become dirt??? i will call monday morning and get there finacial statement for 2010 as it should be open because they are non profit . and if i am wrong i will be the first to oppologize
  23. we had that discussion already one member from that group came on here and told us they screwed the feed up and made them join a orgnization they had been vollenteering for years but had to join a group .. they begged the organization to buy differnt feed . they ended up takeing money out of there own pocket to buy feed... oh ya that organization charged them a handling fee to pay for the food .... non profit my ass
  24. im not a skeptic or a hater. would just like to know where the money goes. untill they "show me the money" i have decided to keep my money. with todays, lack of money making ,high fuel bills and groceries climbing, its about time these Non profit organizations broke even instead of turning a profit, and paying high salaries for doing nothing .
  25. like above but i would invest in a fishhawk.... give you temp and speed at the ball where it counts
