call hydro one for a inspection and a layout it is free.. they will tell you what you need .. i needed to dig down 36 inches and make sure free of big rocks. then needed mortor sand for the ends for a cushion . they will give you a diagram on what you need. they supplied my wire for free as they came in aprox 135 feet .

I know of 3 phone calls to tips line on poaching rainbow trout that have never been called back but 1 call on taking a walley from rice lake was called back in less than 24 hours of the call being made, both occurrences came from the sam WMU so its not one officer is busy its the same guy. I know for a fact I called and got all the info of over limit fish for salmon this guy was acting fish every day and one day kept over his limit I called and co called me back 5 days later I still had all his info and pictures as well was told by co the guy is from Kingston and it is not worth my time to presume the charge . I said ok but this guy is killing at least 5 fish aday just have a local co stop by "nope " we are to busy . So I posted the guys picture on line . The mnr has lost the battle with enforcement They have left the waters to every person who does not care about the fishery and when you call and complain you are told "why do you care" or it is "none of your business" I have not seen a warden on the river system I fish at all. The blatant disregards for the law would fill a ticket book in one day and help pay for the officers pay . any one else seeing this or is it only on the river i fish

My son got a fly rod given to him and I know absolutly nothing about fly fishing . Ron was down at the ganny and when my son pulled out rod he showed my son how to use it and how to "load the rod" after about 20 min or so Ron gave the rod to son he started to do his thing and got it out about 30 feet and on his very first drift he said i got one. he landed fish as we were all shocked that he got it on his first ever drift. not a big ice fisherman but after yesterday when guys spaded a hole not less than 1 feet from the edge of open water and less than 5 min later had to run and get his stuff and then run back and jump over open water because the piece of ice let go. this just cements the idea if you and dumb enough to play a dangerous game then you have to pay .
