river is actually open from the cp tracks to the lake witch gives you a extra 75 yards... till the end of the year then closes to the cn tracks south

the salmon are so successfull at spawning now the mnr is stopping the the fin clipping in ontario .. they say it is a waste of money.. i say its because they are holding there own and do not need million of dollars spent on putting chinooks and cohos in the lake ... there is a few other issues i have but will keep them to pms ..... the mnr and the federal fisheries act leaves alot to be desired ... it all needs a massive overhaul

port hope cleaning station is broke .. they still let you clean fish but idiots drag fish up and down river so the fish is covered in stones then they throw the carcass in garbarotor with stones, the garbrator cant do stones lol... also if some of you read the regulations for eating fish you would not be eating them, anything over 20 inches should not be eaten by woman and children under 15 and anything over 30 inches should not be consumed at all. and it is against the law to throw your fish over the side of boat or in the river .. and port hope just past by law stating if you get caught throwing fish on the bank or parts of it , you will be charged with littering

last night port hope police cleared out 40+ cars and 4 campers .. they will no longer allow you to park from 11 pm and 4 am along certain places . the huge place across from the fish cleaning station is no parking in those hours.. so be careful

if a warden goes in your house with out a warrent he had better come out with a fish and wildlife infraction ... or his butt is fried.. and maybe some of the bioligist should go , why is a bioligist that knows nothing about fish responsible for fisheries departement in the mnr officer when she specilized in mamals.. and the golden handshake was 2 weeks for every year worked plus regular severance. and that program does not run out till jan 30

that will be looked at if this does not work to control the idiots that fish here... what the 35 dollars is for from my understanding is a municipal access licence... the town of port hope along with the grca own all the land that the river runs through (south of the fishway) what the town can do is make it no trespassing with out such access licence.

bet you that fish is chalked full of golbies thank god for the round golbies as they are making the fish bigger and healthier

that by law can not pass it is federal jurisdiction on what can be used as bait.. I have been to the town hall many a time about the issue. the town does not know its right hand from its left of fishing issues in the town. they are making at least 3 officers take courses on fish and wild life enforcement to enforce the so called fishermen that fish there in the fall, yes the fall salmon run brings out the worst in people. and yes the parking is strictly enforced... also the reason the new sign is there is some DORK told the town they needed to put a walk way out on the pier so fishermen can access the land to fish the town said no...the same FING DORK went back 2 weeks later and said I fell on those rocks and you need to put a walk way out so I can fish it....so up went the sign from my knowledge this sign is just for the town and the lawyers sake keeping the town free of law suits

the town of port hope has plans to erect parts of the eating guide at the cleaning station and around parts of the river , this is just one of many steps that are to be taken to educate people fishing the river as well as many new bylaws that have been put in place after last years mess that port hope had to clean up and take many a phone calls . I think this may be the only town that is educating fishermen what they can safely eat

Don't know about the river your talking about but the ganny you must look into the patan deed held at the mnr offic and get a ruling on the way the interpret it. Here just because you can paddle it don't mean you can access it

yes Bill, they have there bylaw all they have to do is change name to port hope and bylaw number and impliment essa did all the leagle work.. just a simple copy and paste

i dont see where cost would cause a problem. they already have staff on duty for bi laws so there is no cost, just maybe a little extra work if they impliment it
