  1. yep thats his place. that pool down from bridge is great in the spring time. and only one or two without the white tips.
  2. i fish that area on the mag, my uncles place is down the end of ladds rd. i've nailed some smaller eyes that had blueish tinges to them as well but i have yet to fish labrash.
  3. spinners, different mepps size 2 or 3 have worked well for me
  4. generally on any used vehicle there is work to be done. the rant is about the fact his safety and the safety of his family was put into jepoardy due to the previous owner lying about important issues and the vehicle being certified when it clearly shouldn't have been.
  5. what i'm getting from this is that he knew he had some work to do on the vehicle but there were some serious saftey issues which the owner did not bring up. and also that the vehicle had gotten its approved stickers for the safety when there were clearly many reasons it should have failed. which is why he called the stickers a fly-by. i agree with you on this for sure, hiding issues with a vehicle so it will sell is one thing but something big enough to put the person and their family in danger is much worse. i think i interpreted you correctly, or at least i hope lol
  6. yikes one thing after another. brutal to be working in this heat today too, hopefully soon you'll be updating with some fresh fish pics
  7. definatly a beautiful landscape up there. i'm hoping to make a couple more trips up this year and haul in some good results
  8. while talking to a buddy at work sunday i was mentioning wanting to make another trip up north and thats when we both realized we had the next 3 days off work. so i told him id give my uncle a call once i got home and if we were good to go we would head up sunday night. gave him a ring and everything worked out. quickly pack up the gear, stop by the store for groceries and off we were. fishing wasn't nearly as great this time but we had a few things holding us back. after getting up there we found out the boat motor wasnt running so we would have to canoe around for the next couple days. that wasn't so bad except one of my hot spots is a couple miles away. next issue was bait the minnow traps in his pond that usually load up within a few hours were still empty so we had to drive a while to get to the bait shop for some minnows. the first day we stayed relatively close and fished a smaller side river with me nailed a bunch of nice smallies and my friend have nothing to show for it. next day we decided to bite the bullet and make the long paddle. it was worth it. we both managed a few walleye each and my friend landed a small pike too(his firsts of both species). that night we hit another channel mouth and anchored up. we both hit a few small walleye and i set the hook into a nice pike. after the long day of paddling and some pretty intense sun we went back to the cottage and passed out. originally we had planned to fish wednesday as well but my friend got quite the wicked sunburn and was pretty exhausted we opted to just pack up and hit the road. this trip wasn't hot fishing like my previous one but still a great time, the water temp probably had a part on that one as it was around 78 degrees. the final tally was 15 smallies 5 walleye and 1 pike for me and 3 walleye and 1 pike and one heck of a sunburn for my friend. hopefully i'll be heading there again in august and can manage some more fish.
  9. i downloaded a program called sopcast (its free) and watch it on the mma channel on there. havn't had it cut out yet.
  10. had a great time out there pal looking forward to our next trip out
  11. thats what i do, the only downside is sometimes the bite turns off
  12. doesn't look like any bite i've dealt with before, almost looks like a planter's wart i had on my heel, it was tough to the touch as well. if it's giving you issues go get it checked out. who knows even ask at the pharmacy one day while shopping they might be able to help.
  13. looks like you have a fun time out on the water, good job bud
  14. glad to hear you're actually getting around to it, i've heard you talk about wanting to for a while. looking forward to see the outcome vince
  15. at least his cardio was better haha but wow that face was looking real nasty. but as i thought/hoped dos santos pulled it off. as for the sam stout fight wow talk about being put to sleep
  16. i downloaded a program called sopcast and googled up the link for an mmatv channel. works everytime havn't ever had it cut out. majority of the time i make it out to my local boston pizza with friends to watch though. as for carwin/dos santos i'm pretty torn. carwin has the power but pretty poor conditioning. so if it ends in the first round i'd say carwin but 2nd or 3rd dos santos.
  17. darn i wish i was home for that outing, we'll get them this monday pal either way great report and sounds like you had some fun out on the water
  18. barely dealt with any bugs. only in the evening time. during the day it was hott enough that they weren't out just a few random horseflies.
  19. i find if you freeze fish then unthaw to fillet the meat is much more soft/mushy which made it harder to fillet. i never tried freezing it in water though as joey suggested.
  20. cell shots couple shots from last year
  21. thanks guys. mike p. i love the scenery up there, i have a few other pictures and a few from last year that i'll post if i can find them.
  22. made it up to my uncles place for the first time this year. i was hoping to go up on opener but with work and plans falling through with a few friends i finally made it up. hit the road thursday night after i got off work and got up there at about 230 am only to be greeted by a tree laying across the driveway. with my friends car not being too offroad friendly i ended up breaking off many of the branches and holding the tree back while he drove through to the cottage. we unpacked our stuff then got some sleep. got up the next morning to do some shore fishing but only had one solid hit which shook it off. finally at around noon we had a boat set up and in the water and we were set for fishing all weekend. it ended up being one of the best weekends i've had up there. i caught quite a few fish and my friend (not much of an angler) caught his first of 2 species. the fish tally friday i caught 12 walleye. my friend caught his first ever pike saturday i beat my previous day by catching 16 walleye and 1 smallie. my friend managed to catch his second ever pike. sunday i managed another 16 walleye 2 smallies and 1 pike. and after losing 2 boatside my friend caught his first ever walleye and he was really happy monday i slept in and only got out for 2 hours before heading out but i managed another 3 walleye with one being my pb at 4lbs 10 ozs which beat my previous pb by only 5ozs haha time for some pics his first ever pike fish for the evening fry view from the upstairs bedroom lounging around average size walleye of the trip evening view while fishin his second ever pike overcast morning on my way another average walleye my pike failed picture attempt first ever walleye the cottage/house good current holding fish bay on the smaller river and finally my new pb walleye
  23. sounds like another fun day out on the water, good job
